For some time now I've been trying to get a job as a library page at the branch 3 minutes from my house. Today I discovered that the job was given to some perky breasted 18-year-old college freshmen. What the...? I know attractive people, especially females, always have an advantage. But in this economy it seems like they'll be the only ones getting work.

This may be true in some circumstances. At work, we got a new girl who said the staffing agency she went with only tells the more attractive people there are certain jobs available. Now, this girl didn't last though, so I think if people are basing their hiring on looks, they need to get a new plan. Hire people who are qualified, not people who look hot.

well in a retail environment, people will spend more money if an attractive person is behind the register....I was an Assitant Manager at a Gamestop for 3 years and when I become ASM I hired 2 cute college girls and they bought in more foot traffic....which in most cases equals more money

I confess this happened to me. This cute asian female at the local Babbage's back when it was called that, coerced me into getting store credit for my used games as opposed to cash. What a sucker.
