Open Water 2

No, because the water, combined with the weight of two other people would just push the person on the bottom down, they wouldn't be able to support the other two.

If you take a good breath let the person go on top of you it give you enough time to reach the border.

Also you can go deep down then let the pressure of the water push you up and you push the other person on top.

I don't see that working, at all. The people on top would get barely any boost at all from the person on bottom, unless it's some uber powerful body builder type.

Trust me it is possible. How do you call those person who dance under the water those in the olympics??? they can lift a person while dancing. You Don t really need to be strong since you re in the water. The water will take most of the weight. Actually I m gonna have try it :woot:

I just watched the film again, and the ending actually is quite odd.

At first I thought they were just trying to say that other two were down in the bottom part when the other boat circled around, but it looks pretty ambiguous.

The name of the boat is Godspeed, and with the cross and the dialogue earlier in the film (the Our Father and the discussion about what's out there) I'm not sure if they were attaching religious symbolism and saying they'd died and passed on...

Re-watching it, the story structure reminds me alot of the Descent.

The leader of the group ****s up and lies to the rest of the group, getting them stranded in a potentially fatal situation cut off from the rest of the world...one of the group has a severe traumatic experience that's made their life an emotional wreck prior to ending up here, and the one responsible ends up fighting to save the traumatized one...

That's basically Juno and Sarah's relationship in The Descent.

Maybe that dark haired girl in this flipped out and killed all her friends and imagine the whole ordeal...

There was many parts in that movie that got on my nerve,. One of the ladies say she s gonna look for help and the one with the water proof vest (black hair) is too egocentric to give it to her. I mean wake up! the girls gonna have to swim for ever to look for help and you don't give your vest? Same thing for her poor husband his head is severely injured and no! I m just not gonna borrow my vest! Not to mention this guy who is going to die but doesn't want his friend to scratch his boat. It is movie after all but still......

She wasn't egocentric, she had a fear of the water, wasn't much of a swimmer (she hadn't been in the water in decades) and really couldn't stay afloat without the vest.

Him not wanting them to scratch his boat was a part of his character arc when he fesses up to how full of **** he was about his lifestyle.

I know she was afraid but after what happened I think you can put aside your fear for a minute and beside she s been in the water for a while... She was afraid to surpass a fear for her poor husband but not for that scum bag at the end?....humm I think she liked him since day 1.:o

That blonde chick who kept quirking out was the one who got on my nerves the most. Her death seemed so strange too.

Well overcoming her fear for her husband would've done no good, since at that time they had no way of getting back on the boat.

Yeah how can I forgot her. She tried to rip of the cell. One good elbow on her nose and that s it. How can you drawn your self? you can do it by accident?

I like to know what the dvd commentary says about the ending.

And yeah, i see the similarities between Open Water 2 and The Descent; another simarilty was the relationship between the black haired chick, her husband and the boat owner- just like it was revealled than Juno had indeed had a past relationship-cheated with Sarah's husband in The Descent.

I don't think she drown herself, she just got too exhausted from treading water and with her body going through hypothermia toppled with her extreme emotional state she just passed out and sunk.
