I had some questions about the new rides and attractions opening up this summer, specifically the new roller coaster in Universal Studios, as well as the new coaster in Sea World.

Seeing how a few websites are no longer dishing out some behind-the-scenes information anymore, I figured we can chat it up.

[ P.S. If you know of any decent websites, please let me know! :) ]

I always wanted to go to Universal Orlando/Island of Adventure, especially the Marvel park.

I hear they are making a Harry Potter land at islands of adventure and there will be a rollercoaster that spans throughout islands of adventure AND city walk.

I don't know about Sea World though. I love some of the new rides they have. For instance I think the new Mummy ride is WAY better than the King Kong ride that was there before.

As I know at this point, there's gonna be a new coaster right next to the Mummy, back in the "New York" area of the park. And apparently you can choose your own soundtrack everytime to ride the coaster. Pretty cool so far.

And the only thing I've heard about the Sea World coaster, is that it involves a Manta-Ray or something, and it's supposed to simulate flight. Similar to the Superman coaster.

I think it's a regular roller coaster but instead of sitting you are like strapped in laying down sort of but the opposite way so it would feel like your flying like superman. Something like that anyways.

.

^^ Thats what I heard also.
I know they were clearing the way/making changes for the Harry Potter themed area beginning about a year ago. It will be in/near the medieval area w/ the dueling dragons coaster.

I had annual passes there for a few years, but havent been now in about 2 years. :csad:

i went to universal studios when I was younger. Man it was totally awesome.

Besides the parks, check out the Kissimee area. I remember there was a street filled with shops, restaurants and other tourist stuff. I remember the Jaws ride at Universal was cool. I love how all the rides make you think that something has gone terribly wrong.

But I don't see it happening anytime soon :csad:

I've been to all the Orlando theme parks multiple times, and that's what I'd recommend as the best. (For people with no small children along, that is.)

I hate you even more for using the number 8 in a word :cmad:

It's a good time. The Hulk coaster & the Spidey ride have to be 2 of the best attractions I've been on, period. The Mummy coaster at Universal was also very good.

I'm most familiar with the Disney parks though. I've been an annual pass holder since 2005. If anyone ever wants to know a thing about DW, all the way down to the smallest detail, I'm your guy.

I live in Lakeland which is right in between Tampa and Orlando so I go to the parks all the time. I know tons of people who work at Disney so I often get in there for free. I've been to Busch Gardens and Sea World multiple times and I have season passes to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure. In fact, I'm going there tomorrow then seeing Wolverine later in the night.

And yes, they are building a new rollercoaster (It looks incredible so far) and the Hogwartz Island is going to open sometime in 2010. I don't even like Harry Potter, but that'll be awesome! :D

I  Disney World.

Since my family moved down to Florida, I've been to Universal twice and Disney three times.

I'm definitely going to go back to Universal when the Harry Potter part opens up.

And I hear rumors of a Star Tours 2.0 opening next year. :fingers crossed:

Of course these parks, have made turn my nose up at places like Busch Gardens and Six Flags.

Yep, Star Tours 2.0 is confirmed and apparently it'll be digital. That should be pretty cool. Also, Disney is making a fifth park...Or at least that what the rumor is with all the recent property that was bought.

None of those are true :csad:

I don't really have anything to contribute to this thread. Everyone already said what I was gonna say.

I'm in the know, dammit! :cmad:

Unless all those employees lied to me. :csad:

Depends on the position said employees hold. I wouldn't buy into it so much if they're sweeping streets or selling turkey legs. :oldrazz:

Those turkey legs are as good as they look. :csad:
