That's a wrap on Star Wars: The Force Awakens! From Paris to Abu Dhabi to London and lots of places in between. It really has been out of this world. Now the real fun begins...

MTV - Oscar Isaac Tells Us Actual Things About ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ (video)

http://www.mtv.com/news/2043619/oscar-isaac-star-wars-name-pronunciation/

Stars like Adam Driver have remained tight-lipped, and of course director J.J. Abrams is keeping mum, but Oscar Isaac let a detail or two (literally, exactly two) details about the movie slip to MTV News in an interview ahead of his latest movie, “A Most Violent Year.”

First, he explains how to pronounce his character’s name. Important information!

Next, he tells us the biggest confirmation we’ve heard thus far: his character has legs. (Remember, we’ve only seen him shoulders-up in the X-Wing so far.)

“No, he gets out,” Isaac said. “Spoiler: he’s not only inside. Yeah. He has legs. Yeah. You got it out of me.”

Very important information. I hope he doesn't get in trouble with JJ.

I'm surfeit too late to "punish" him in any way by JJ as I'm ep sure everything's already well in post-production. But ten again, who knows...maybe he'll be this ST's version of Ric Olie :woot:

TV3.ie - Oscar Isaac: Actors aren't in control

Oscar has been lucky enough to land a part in the upcoming Star Wars movie, Episode VII - The Force Awakens. Written and helmed by J. J. Abrams the actor can't believe his luck at joining the franchise.

"It was wild. It was definitely nothing I could have ever anticipated. It's pretty cool to be able to add to that continuing story and to be a part of the incredible Star Wars culture," he smiled.

Oscar Isaac Talks "X-Men" and "Star Wars" - David Letterman

"A Most Violent Year" star Oscar Isaac talks about his roles in the upcoming blockbusters, "X-Men: Apocalypse" and "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens."

"Everyone's so ravenous for content--all the blogs and all that stuff. So any little bit they want to get from you."

Q: Your next movie will be seen by every living soul on this planet.

Yes. It'll be very cool. I'm very excited about it. I'm excited to see it, to see how it all comes together.

Q: What did you think of people's reaction to the trailer?

It was awesome. It was very fun. It was very fun to see that spirit get ignited again.

Q: What was it like being in an X-Wing?

It was very cool, but a little nauseating because the thing is on a gimbal and moving all around. I forgot to breathe and I was like, "Whoa." But it was very cool.

Q: Were these movies super important to you as a kid? What was your motivation to get on board?

Well the history of it. The first movie I remember seeing in a theater was "Return of the Jedi." And then J.J., on top of the whole thing was J.J. Nostalgia can only go so far and at a certain point you have to have someone who has a real vision of what they want to do.

Q: And your next director isn't too shabby either. Are you excited about working with Rian?

Yes. Very excited.

Q: Have you talked to him yet?

No, not yet.

Q: They're doing these spinoffs now. Is there any possibility for your character to star in one of those?

I don't know, you're going to have to ask them about it...

Looks like Poe will develop even further. Not entirely surprising but still interesting.

/Film - UPDATE: Oscar Isaac Clarifies His ‘Star Wars Episode VIII’ Quotes

...

UPDATE: You should be surprised, if you weren’t. I also had the chance to talk to Isacc about Ex Machina (which is frigging awesome and co-stars another Star Wars actor, Domhnall Gleeson) and he brought up the above quote. I asked him if the actors in the series know what’s going to happen to their characters beyond The Force Awakens. His response:

Oscar Isaac said:
Ah, I couldn’t speak to that. I don’t even know. I think generally…watching the trailer was my only confirmation that I even was going to be in this one so I have no idea. I know that people thought I was saying I was going to be in the next one which is not true. I was asked if I was excited to work with Rian Johnson. I mean of course I would. I’d be excited to work with him. I have no confirmation whether I will or not or anything like that.

Personally, I’m still fairly confident Poe Dameron will be in Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII but, for now, this is what Isaac is saying.

Abrams calls him in the middle of the night and threatened to rip out his fingers if he didn't backtrack.

Entertainment Tonight - ‘Ex Machina’ Actor Oscar Isaac Talks Growing Beards, Dancing & Lying to the Press About ‘Star Wars’

...

Domhnall Gleeson, who plays Caleb, is also going to be in Star Wars. Did you know that while filming Ex Machina?

Nope, no clue… We didn’t know either one of was in [Star Wars] until we showed up for the read-through.

Now that you’re a part of two large ensemble franchises, do you worry at all about standing out among the sea of actors?

Not really. No. I can just do justice to the character and try to make it interesting for me, but how it comes across ultimately really isn’t in my control. That’s more about the nature of the story and how the character’s portrayed.

You’re getting so many questions about spoilers, how many lies have you told the press?

Not too many. I’ve been pretty forthwith I would say… You really can’t answer stuff. You can’t give away some stuff that I can, as honestly as I can.

Based on the trailer, your character, Poe Dameron, doesn’t have any facial hair. Is it safe to say Star Wars is your first clean-shaven role in a while?

I can’t even say. Maybe a beard suddenly appears -- maybe thousands of years go by, I don’t know. Maybe there’s flashbacks, who knows? Maybe I play my own dad. You never know! [Laughs] There are so many questions. Maybe I’m playing twins. I could be twins -- one with a beard or just a mustache or some alien hair, like I’m an alien of some sort.

It would be great if the twin was a bearded, shirtless guy who dances.

Exactly -- [Laughs] -- does disco dancing.

Uproxx - Oscar Isaac Talks To Us About ‘Ex Machina’ And Yes, ’Star Wars: The Force Awakens’

Vulture - Oscar Isaac on Ex Machina and the Secrecy of Star Wars

...

I know you can't spoil anything about Star Wars for me, but I'm curious about the art of secret-keeping on a production like this. For example, when you signed on, did they even tell you that the movie was titled The Force Awakens?
I don't think they really knew the title for a long time … or if they did, it was kept under wraps. You know what? I think I learned it when everybody else did, when it was announced. With bigger movies like this, there are so many moving parts, so many marketing ideas, that they obviously don't want those things preempted by someone speaking out of turn and saying something they shouldn't have. People are so hungry for information and content that it's just easier when you don't tell people that much. Even something small you might say could get misconstrued! For example, someone asked me if I was interested in working with Rian Johnson, who's directing the next Star Wars movie, and I said, "Sure, I'd like to work with him" … and then people reported that I'll be in that movie. And I have no idea! I don't even know if I'm gonna be in this one. All I know is that I'm in the trailer. [Laughs.]

It's interesting that in Ex Machina, Domhnall Gleeson's character arrives at this mysterious compound and has information doled out to him in a very cagey, need-to-know basis. I would think that's analogous to meeting with J.J. Abrams on a project as secretive as Star Wars.
It's a bit like that, yeah. You meet and you talk, over the next week or two, people figure it out, and then it either happens or doesn't.

And then do they tell you the character's name and all the important plot details?
I knew that in my first talk with J.J., actually. He basically told me the whole thing, the whole story. It was incredibly exciting just to be called in and told that. It was awesome.

...

And I hear that's similar to the new Star Wars film, which goes heavy on practical effects instead of computer graphics.
Same thing! It was very much like that. Yeah, there would be some blue-screens here and there, but for the most part, I interacted with full sets and everything. It was great.

"He's the best frickin' pilot in the galaxy, that's who [Poe Dameron] is. He's been sent on a mission by a certain princess and he ends up coming across Mr. John Boyega's character and their fates are forever intertwined." --Oscar Isaac, Star Wars Celebration 2015

Will Poe have his own R2 ?
Or is his astromech droid going to be a Gonk, that would be hysterical!:funny: Knowing he used to dress up as one.

Óscar Isaac -"Someone's got to be the Gonk Droid"

If Poe doesn't have an R2 astromech, I seriously hope his Uncle plays his Gonk.
I would die if we get a shot of them lowering an old Gonk into his x-wing. And Poe is like WTF?:funny:
