With the Guardians of the Galaxy film coming out, it's clear that Marvel isn't just going to put all their chips on the Avengers. As most anyone knows, the Marvel Universe has other teams than just the Avengers.

So is there a chance we'll see The Defenders on film?

Defenders would be a waste of time. Midnight Sons is what they should do.

I'd rather see Thunderbolts.

There's a good chance that The Inhumans and The Runaways are still in development, even though they're probably several years still from shooting.

I still hope that Heroes for Hire gets a greenlight --- I honestly think that movie would be a better box-office hit for Marvel than doing Luke Cage and Iron Fist as separate movies.

Would love a Defenders movie. Always loved the Un-Team. Plus they're probably the single most powerful team ever. When Namor the Submariner is your weakest team member then you're team's pretty powerful.

Who would be in it though? Dr. Strange and Namor? Hulk will probably stay with the Avengers and Silver Surfer will probably stay with FOX unfortunately.

To nitpick, I'm pretty sure that GotG is going to be building up Thanos... for the Avengers. That said, I'd love to see Heroes for Hire.

Yeah, they'll probably give the origin of Thanos in GotG.. But they can also keep this movie going far past just one movie..

Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers would be good.

Thunderbolts of course.
Fantastic Four? ;-;...
The Runaways
Midnight Suns because I want to see Blade again.
Heroes for Hire because I want to see Iron Fist punch a dragon in the heart. Boss.
Inhumans. Isn't Black Bolt tied with the Avengers somehow?
Sinister Six

Fantastic 4!

Oh wait, Fox still has the ****ing film rights :O

Pray they don't start production on the reboot this Fall, but they'll most likely will to keep it away from Marvel Studios and Disney :/

I'm all for a Defenders movie.

I don't think it'd be a waste of time, especially if we get Dr. Strange and Namor movies. Both characters incorporate very important parts of the Marvel Universe, and I wouldn't want them to become Avengers if they have the opportunity to team up separately. Besides, the idea is to expand the MCU beyond just the Avengers.

Agreed. As much of a game-changer The Avengers was and is, a Defenders movie would turn the superhero team-up idea on its head--again.

You would definitely want Dr. Strange, Namor, and Hulk. If they properly progress Hulk as a character (like, give him more of a personality), then having him leave the Avengers and becoming one of the Defenders would be true to that character (and the comics). The biggest obstacle is the exclusion of the Silver Surfer. It's too bad Marvel and Fox don't have the same deal with him as they do with Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. What's also remiss about it is that you wouldn't be able to use him in the Infinity Gauntlet mega-crossover.

Defenders would be a waste of time. Midnight Sons is what they should do.

My lineup: Blade, Ghost Rider, Werewolf, Victoria Montesi.. IMO, having all of the backup characters from Tomb of Dracula (Hannibal, Frank, Rachel VanHelsing, Quincy Harker) or the GhostRider books (Caretaker, etc.) would get too top-heavy..

...Ideally, Ghost Rider movie rights would have to go back to Marvel.. For what it's worth, I could see Nick Cage and Wesley Snipes willing to work with each other, they've both had tax/money problems.. they can re-cast Hannibal King and de-emphasize his presence; I don't want to see Ryan Reynolds in the role again.. get a talented unknown for Victoria Montesi and have her be a magic specialist, maybe using Tarot cards that come to life as weapons and expendable avatars.. but the film probably wouldn't have Dr. Strange..

Midnight Sons FTW!

The invaders!!!
or
Excalibur!!!!

Def wanna see some british heroes on the big screen..and properly..not in a roundabout way like falsworth in captain america.

I think, if they go supernatural, a better idea would be to go smaller scale, with the Nightstalkers: a small team of monster hunters working the dark streets and shadowed woods of the world, fighting things that go bump in the night. 'Supernatural' with super powers. Go with a Blade and Hannibal King that are truer to the comic versions, add Frank Drake ( though make him more of a gadgeteer than a "guy with big gun" ), and perhaps throw in one of the supernatural ladies to keep it from being a sausage fest ( Amethyst maybe, as she could work fine as a occultist psychic ).

They should totally do Heroes for Hire, though.

Midnight Sons was another thing I was hoping for. They already have the rights to Blade. They can wait for Ghost Rider to fall back into their grasp to add him to their ranks, and, in the meantime, focus on developing Blade, Werewolf by Night, and Man-Thing. It would be a nice film to release in October for Halloween.

As for Heroes for Hire, yes! A huge contrast to the rest of the superhero world. Just bad-ass guys working on the streets. I really wanna see that.

As for the Defenders, what would be cool is if the Hulk migrates over there, and that way more heroes can be added to the Avengers roster without having to take away screen time from the rest of the heroes.

After how GR:SOV did, I think Ghost Rider is the most likely candidate to go the way that Hulk and Punisher went before(i.e. back to Marvel Studios and Disney).

I actually wouldn't mind Excalibur or Alpha Flight for the big screen.

I pretty much agree with everything you said. Midnight Sons could do for Ghost Rider and Man-Thing what The Avengers did for Hulk.

Pretty much I'd be all for team-ups that have stark differences from The Avengers.

I want Marvel to make a movie with Ghost Rider, Blade, Elektra, Punisher and Daredevil. And call it "Marvel Knights".

Unfortunately, those characters are owned by three separate studios... maybe in 10-20 years!

One day I'd like to see Young Avengers.
