i made a little story/outline for his character (if they do him in the reboot):
otto octavius was a respected scientist, although bitter and paranoid, and was directing the oscorp nuclear and genetical departments. he tried to perform an experiment who would apparently create a new kind of nuclear power for weapons, for which he used a prototype of 4 metal appendages which work from feeds they get to his brain. when the experiment fails, all the research team dies or gets poisoned, and octavius is bombarded with radioation, but is saved by the metal prototype, which block some of it. he was sent to hospital, where he discovered the metal harness and headband he used to control the arms are churred to his body, and that he is schizophrenic, his systems fail, he suffers from chemical disorder and that he is dying form radioation poisoning. the enraged octavius freaks out and almost kills his boss, norman osborn. he steals equiptment from oscorp to temporarily hold back the radioation, using the harness, kevlar pieces for a body-armor, metal scraps and enomerous oscorp weapons he used to upgrade the arms, and blueprints. it was revealed that he wasn't wrong, but sabotaged by both osborn and lonnie thompson "tombstone" lincoln, an albino mob-boss. it seems that octavius was a goverment mole at oscorp and learned that norman had mob ties and that he sold weapons to the mob. osborn or tombstone found out, and replaced his chemicals via workers AFTER he checked them. the experiment was too much for the sealed room, as it killed many people outside of the room, and bombarded osborn with radioation that influenced his mind. in the climax, octavius distracts spider-man by reverse-engineering his spider-tracers into a device which turns spider-man's sixth sense way up, seeing everyone (including the crowd) as dangers. he goes to kill osborn, but spider-man's stops him, and they fight on the oscorp building roof. a stone that falls accidently kills captain george stacey, a thing that leaves spidey in shambles. SHIELD pick up octavius and put him on IV drip, in the vault, where secret experiments on humans gone wrong like octaviusand metahumans who are dangerous to society are kept (cameos from sandman and electro to build up a sinister six).
