We need moar confirmation if ILM is responsible for the VFX.
Sometimes in order to greenlight movies , directors tend to to go certain VFX studios and create a proof of concept test but ultimately wind up choosing a different studio once the movie is greenlight.

A recent example would be Avatar.
ILM created the proof on concept test but Cameron chose WETA ( because of their experience working with performance capture). Later on ILM was brught to lessen the workload for WETA.

right now ILM is the best when it comes to metalic surfaces. they have 4 year experience from transformers. they are also one of the best at creating big environments. so i hope its ILM

Wow ILM... now I'm getting more excited about this film. I can already imaigne giant robots vs monsters under Del Toro's direction.

I thought Avatar would be something special ... and it wasn't.
So, as freakin' excited as I am for this, I'm going to hold my excitement. :O

Yes they are but for me the perfect blend would be ILM doing the mechas/robots and weta doing the monsters. Both are great at doing organic and metalic things but for me weta is a step further when it comes to creatures. Although it being Del toros film I hope they build life sized busts of the robots for close-ups or to digitally extend them when they're not moving ex, when they're being worked on/repaired.

Word is, that the mosters are so big that they make a monster the size of Godzilla look tiny. I really can't wait for this one. It's going to be a modern day Kaiju classic.

Now I'm waiting for him to do a Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot flick.

News on the robots themselves would be nice.:csad:

All I've heard, is that both the monsters and robots will be the size of skyscrapers. The idea of a monster and robot the size of the sears tower throwing down is beyond badass. Del Toro said that he wanted to take Kaiju monsters and make them bigger and badder than they have ever been.

Djawadi is amazing with Game of Thrones, so nuff said. The theme song still gives me chills.

Oh, you mean the guy that scored Iron Man? The best score that's come out of marvel studios yet? yea, what a shame.

Yeah, don't even bother trying to argue with Elevator Man concerning Ramin Djawadi, Hans Zimmer and all those other MV/RC guys. He's pretty much made his mind up that all of their scores are mediocre compared to the work of other composers.

Who knows, maybe Del Toro will get something really good out of him in this film.

Yeah and The Avengers will win best picture at the oscars.:o

Thanks I needed a good laugh.

I don't think every score by Zimmer is mediocre. I think most of the MV/RC scores worked best in the 90s than they do today.

Stop making me laugh. Silvestri and Doyle far outclass Djawadi's effort on Iron Man, it's ridiculous.

I'm a bit disappointed with del Toro's pick. With all that fanfare, I thought he'd get someone like Brian Tyler or James Newton Howard to score it. Or he'd get Beltrami back...

But I think Djawadi's starting to improve. His action material for Safe House was pretty impressive, and if he can channel that kind of energy into Pacific Rim... maybe we'll get a decent score.

Iron Man the best Marvel movie score? Do me a favour. Thor is comfortably the best Marvel movie score.

Iron Man's was basically non-existent.

Still hyped for this movie though.
