This isn't a jab at other anime with mechs but the Gundam series easily has the most beautiful designs when it comes to mechs. Really hope Del Toro took a page from there.

I guess the only downside would be that it would be a painful reminder that we still don't have a new (proper) Godzilla film....

and I'll bet that when some ppl do see the trailer for the 1st time, they will think it's a new Godzilla film.

I always liked the look of the Gundams. I'm really looking forward to what they come up with them. Hopefully something a little different but with the influences. But the monsters are probably the thing Del Toro is having the most fun with.

I bet if this is successful, the Godzilla film will definitely be a go. They could be waiting to see how this does.

Hopefully there's gonna be a teaser with TDKR.

Going by Toro's descrption of the weapons and battles, I'm expecting designs and capabilities from mecha like Getter Robo.

Pacific Rim, The Hobbit, and Man of Steel. WB has a lot of movies releasing either this year or next that need publicity so I'm curious how many WB trailers they'll include before TDKR.

Especially when Nolan's name will be attached. You can bet your ass Snyder and Nolan's names will be all over this marketing and this teaser. With TDKR it's a shoe in.

It is an original story, but we have seen it in cartoon form before.

Every movie is influenced and inspired by something.

This movie is sounding like a mainstream Gundam/Godzilla originals with an awesome Toro touch. If anything, this movie will only glorify and elevate the popularity of the old Gundam series and mechs in general. Along with giant monsters. Let the haters hate.
