Paranormal Activity 7

I guess this series peaked with 3 we’re in DTV territory. Still, not bad for a $15,000 first film. Now Paramount can make them cheap and easy till the end of time.

The movie itself might be trash, but the trailers for this haven't looked that bad IMO so far so I'll probably give it a watch at some point although I'm not expecting anything great.

I don't know. Looks pretty bad to me.

I’m actually a fan of this franchise, definitely looking forward to this one. I really like the look and setting of it.

Another found footage movie that look like it was shot by professional film crew, similar to Blair Witch 2016.

Yeah if there's one thing I know, its that the average smart phone cameraman loves to film vertically at the least appropriate time, they stop recording mid action, and they can't pan or track for ****.

Looks like they have took notes from Outlast 2.

I actually thought this was pretty decent although I doubt its going to impress most. Maybe not as good as the first three movies, but its easily the most I've enjoyed a Paranormal Activity flick since 3.

The performances in this really elevated it and I was surprised by how much I liked the main three characters , especially the sound guy who was hilarious and my favorite character in the movie.

I still don't understand how it ties to the other films though or why it was even called Paranormal Activity considering it felt very standalone, but I wouldn't mind seeing where they take it from here.

Yeah I thought it was good, but this wasn't a Paranormal Activity movie at all. It seems like they slapped the title on after they made it.

I liked that it was different, but maybe it would've been better if the movie wasn't called "Paranormal Activity" and you had no idea what was going to happen. It could've been about a crazy cult if you didn't know, now you're just waiting for the supernatural stuff to happen.

I noticed that
they did break the rules a couple of times at the end, with music and shots that were clearly not filmed by the characters.

That demon who gets away seems way too powerful. You can't fight something like that, if they make another movie.

It is "funny though that they pretty much doomed the world by escaping. Usually the boyfriend dies in this series, so it's nice to see one get away for once.

I thought that maybe
this is what happens to all the women in these movies who get possessed, but I guess that doesn't really make sense. I also thought that maybe the mom would turn out to be the girl from the first movie, but that didn't happen.

I had fun with it. The movie was better than I expected.

Pretty good movie all around, although I share the views that this isn't a Paranormal Activity movie. One thought I had is that maybe this was about a faction of the coven we were introduced to in the previous movies, but I don't think that appears to be the case. I was hoping for some sort of connection to the previous movies, but couldn't discern any on first viewing. Enjoyed the characters for sure and the sound guy reminded me of the tech guy from Insidious.

Not a bad movie, but not one of the best PA movies either. Still enjoy the first one a lot more.

That's also what I was thinking at first, but it seems like
the people on that farm were the good guys, kind of... They wanted to trap the demon in a body and keep it down that well. The coven in the previous movies would actually want to see something like this ending happening, with the demon being free.
