What I want to know is how many ****ing steps did those two have. Did they add on more stepping sounds for dramatic effect then there really is ?

They have a standard 6 steps then landing then 6 steps then floor. So 14 steps total.

In the movie there is about 16 steps taken. You have to take into account how many steps are taken on the landing itself before ascending the second set of steps... So no... they do not take liberties with how many steps the demon takes.

the only thing that stuck with me from this movie is im still creeped out by my stairs at night

That sound was the one thing that geniunely freaked me out in this film.

So how many times do you think she was possessed by the demon in this movie ? I think it is safe to say the demon possessed her when

A) At night she every time she would get up & stand & just look at the boyfriend & then leave the room

B) I do think she was possessed when she refused to leave the house after she was grabbed because was it not her idea to leave to begin with ?

I've seen the two endings, and to be honest I think the alternate ending is much better. The theatrical ending is pretty cheesy, and it takes away from the suspense in the film IMO. The alternate ending of
Katie coming upstairs and rocking back and forth before the police come is better explained and more reasonable.
I think they should've used that one instead of the theatrical one.

Was I the only one waiting for the Demon to kill the cops for killing Kate ?

She definitely was. You can even hear her voice change a little when she goes back to sleep. And she was earlier when she was sitting the floor clutching the crucifix, I think it had her then too.

Which begs the question...why didn't Micah take her to a hospital? OK, there's no treatment for demon possession, but it's better staying alone with her, when it clearly wasn't safe. Even in The Exorcist the kid went the hospital a few times.

The demon would just attack the random people at the hospital wouldn't it since it follows Kate everywhere

Maybe. It feeds off negative energy, according to the psychic, so it would depend on what happened after they left. Micah was ready to go off to a hotel, why not a hospital when Katie had become practically catatonic?

A hospital is filled with negative energy man. That is the last place Katie should ever be in

LOL

You have to be kidding me. Again, addressing this to you for the second time, if it wasn't for the viral marketing campaign and the hype it created, there's no way in hell it would've been as successful as it is now.

Sure bringing in lots of money can be considered successful but imo the success of this film was suppose to be how scared you make the viewer

having this over hyping marketing that is TELLING everyone that it is the scariest thing since sliced bread doesnt help that.

But hey if it brings in the money and we get a sequel then thumbs up right?

When has sliced bread been scary?:hehe:

People complaining about this and Fourth Kind's marketings obviously don't remember Blair Witch's marketing. Scifi even aired a fake documentary interviewing family members and town people about the main characters and how they went missing!

Dosent live up to Jokers running around collecting cakes and bowling balls :hehe:

not sure if this was mentioned but man Micah has a awesome dvd collection lol

Just got back from seeing this movie. Wasn't scary at all. Probably the most boring movie I've paid to see in theaters. I wouldn't recommend this film to anyone I know.

to the kids who found this movie boring..... what were you expecting to see? I'm actually curious...

I can see how some would find it boring. It's in a documentary styled filming, and some people just aren't into that.

which is a shame, i love real Documentaries and these movie style docs

Just saw this over the weekend and glad the huge hype around this film didn't get to me. The film shared some genuinely creepy moments, I'd say it's among the best in the genre.

The thing is, I was not scared at the theater, but those creepy moments have stayed with me I've been forced to turn on lights around the house I don't normally turn on.

I didnt find the movie scary (but I did plug my ears at one or two parts) but when ever I walk up my stairs in the dark to get to my dark bedroom it always creeps me out now :(

I don't know maybe a movie that was actually scary or umm...interesting. Both would have been nice.

And I'm not a kid. I'm not afraid of the dark or bumps and thuds in the night. Not afraid of lightning either.

To the kids that liked the movie, what did you like about it? Did you hear everyone else say it was good so you went with it?
