No, you're not the only one. I thought it was boring and i saw it in theaters.

Lets be honest this only got a big push cause Spielberg found this movie and tacked on a new ending. If it weren't for him no one would care about this movie or as many people who have never seen it. There's a good reason why it was laying around for 2 years before he picked it up.
idk speilberg had anyhting to do with this PA

He was a producer and told them to change the ending. He was originally gonna remake it and make it big budget, but kept it the way it was. With a few changes here and there plus a new ending.

If you wanna watch a scary about a secluded couple being terrorized, then Watch The Strangers. Which is a whole hell of a lot better in my opinion!

You want suspense? That movie is pure suspense! It goes to the bathroom all over PA I say.

HAHA! fightt he power man!
again this moive scare the hell outta me cuz ive had som stuff liek this happen to me

In terms of PA, I prefer the original theaterical version of the movie minus Spielberg's ending. It's definitely a movie, that isn't everybody's cup of tea, but personally I was beyond ready for something outside of the same old tired slasher remake formula, that all of the studios seem to be focused on. All of the horror films released this year. This and Clive Baker's BOOK OF BLOOD were the two stand outs in terms of paranormal films.

As it stands now, I don't see any point in a sequel to the film unless they handle things differently.

Wow, this movie was beyond boring. Maybe if I was 5 it would have been scary. Still wouldn't be as scary or freaky as the opening to Unsloved mysteries and Are you Afrid of the Dark.

a friend, her boy frind actually was possesed for like a few days recently, we got him exserciused, thats what they should have done to the damn house, or the girl or whatever
hes ok by the way

This movie was beyond boring, and didn't scare me in the slightest. Three of my friends told me it was incredibly scary, and that I wouldn't be able to sleep if I watched it. Not only did I go to sleep, but I put it on right before bed, just so it would bore me into a nice sound slumber.

I keep hearing how "original" of an idea this was for a movie, but I'm pretty sure The Blair Witch did the whole "reality" horror movie first. In fact, this movie was like Blair Witch x Stupid.

I actually liked it. I thought it was funny how the bf kept antagonizing the demon. Plus some parts of it were just pretty damn creepy. Yes it was alot like Blair Witch but so was Cloverfield and Diary of the Dead which were both pulled off pretty well. I enjoyed it and also the fact that I live alone makes it a bit creepier but as far as it being scary not really. It did really drag in parts but there were alot of good parts I thought too. I dunno I enjoyed it for what it was ya know

And that's exactly why it bored me to death. It's almost like going to see a comedian do an hour set on stage, and with the entire 60 min set, he only made you laugh 5-6 times. Sure, he had a few funny moments, but for an hour set, it was quiet boring for the sake of comedy. The same can be applied to this. The economy of "scary moments" with how long the movie was, just made it a lackluster attempt at being a frightening/scary movie. Yeah, it had some creepy moments, but all of those scenes were drowned out by the middle of everything. It's like eating a sandwich that is mostly bread, one slice of meat, and nothing else. It's just a dry attempt at something that was preached as being hearty.

Blair Witch wasnt first. Cannibal Holocaust came before it and i think ive heard there was some movie before even less known than Cannibal Holocaust.

Im not gonna defend the movie too much cause I wasnt outright scared, but I did find it creepy and tense and enjoyed most of it. People tend to throw around the term scary a lot without really grasping the concept. People go see a movie full of gore and blood and call that scary, when they probably werent scared just grossed out. Its "Michael Bay" type filmmaking where the visuals on the screen are priority over the tension in the audience. Not that thats necessarily bad

i agree cerealkiller, though the whole movie didnt have me pissing my fear out in the bathroom, what scared me was the dragging scene, the ending, and the part were she speaks int hat odd voice, the rest jsut has me on the edge of my seat, those were the parts that truely honestly scared me, the rest kinda freightened me, but the scary moments that mad me want to hide were, the draggin and the end

I was just pointing out how many times I heard people say how "original" this movie was. I'm sure there were other movies before Blair Witch, I was just pointing out that it isn't that "original" as people are trying to come off.:cwink:

I understand with what you're saying with slasher-flicks, horror movies, and tense, paranormal, dramas, and I have to agree with that. But, like I said above, the tension was so spares, that the economy of scary/tense/freaky moments wasn't enough to keep my interest devoted to keeping with those feelings. Hell, it wasn't even interesting, or that in-depth of a movie. It was set in one location, and only had one point(ie. the girl has a demon following her). There isn't really anything to explore, or that much to think about. It was to cut and dry, a flat-out boring movie, IMO. I think there is more depth and story in a single Unsolved Mysteries case, then what this movie had. It was just one and half hours of a nothing, with about 2-3 minutes of tension. Hardly an attention grabber by any means, but to each his own I guess.

Tense is the last word I use to describe this movie. Tell me i have a short attention span, But I'm sorry this movie was just boring as all hell! Oh, my god! I'm gonna watch two rich white people being scared of nothing, cause their all stupid dumbasses! And it's not cause its not gory like every says, why someone doesn't like it. Boring is boring.

I don't wanna watch people's home videos. I wanna watch actual real entertainment. If your entertained by then, then god bless you. But just cause its "original" and cheap doesn't make it great.

^^ok we got it, you hate this movie
let it go already lol

No, i must feel the need to vent my venom for my hate of this movie and tell everyone about i.:oldrazz:

oh if only we could.. maybe topher would have a reputatuon with fewer foots in its ass then it does on here

If it was also a cannibal film, you might be thinking of Cannibal Ferox AKA: Make Them Die Slowly.

Micah Sloat Talks Paranormal Activity 2

Paranormal Activity's Micah Sloat is gabbing about the follow-up, Paranormal Activity 2, reaching the screen on October 22. It doesn't have a director (yet), but an announcement is forthcoming.

Sloat tells MTV, "All I can tell you is I'm very excited for the project, it's really cool, it's gonna be really interesting and it's not gonna suck, which most horror sequels...would. This is gonna be good." He then added, "We have money now, but we're staying true to the heart of the movie, to the spirit of it, to the vision."

Interesting, so they are going to bring back the original cast after all and not pull a Book of Shadows: Blair Witch II with a whole new cast...

Just let it die, I say. They got lucky once, I don't see it happening again.

I don't understand how he can come back in the sequel but whatever...I'll still probably see it.

Who the hell knows?

I'll still probably see it.
And right there is your answer. If you keep feeding into them they will find a way to some how.

Like I said their 15 minutes of fame are up. And if there were any real actors they move on and forget it to other projects. But then again theres prolly a reason they were never in any other movies before, cause their not good.
