Comedy Parks and Recreation - Part 2

Seinfeld was my favorite comedy. The Office took that spot after Seinfeld ended. Parks has been going strong as was up there with Office for me. But since those 2 are gone now parks has been it and it's just brilliant, tonight's episode was so awesome. I agree that next season will likely be the final season. Tonight's episode had such a good mix of what this show does best. The humor, the emotional parts and the characters themselves how they've grown. Just a great episode.

Another question I have for "Three Years Later."

- Is Larry/Jerry/Terry still married to Christie Brinkley?

The show has nothing to loose. It will likely be the final season anyways.

Of course he is, his home life is perfect, it's work that sucks for him.

Mike Schur said that they planned the ending of the finale after they received the renewal for season seven:

The head at NBC gave the show a pretty solid, though not entirely official, thumbs up for season 7 all the way back in January when the network was doing it's TCA presentations, so I don't think the writers would've really ever thought it would be ending.

Must have missed this news somehow. Good to know.

Also, that moment in the forest Ben realized it was Endor was priceless.

Paul Schneider, who was on the show the first two seasons speaks on his departure:

Is that why you left ‘Parks and Recreation’?
That experience was very strange for me. You know, I signed up for a specific character that was changed in mid-season. And it became a character with a lot less to do. And, all of a sudden, I was kind of confused and kind of having a lot less to do.

I just got into this show about a month ago. Binged watched everything on Netflix and then caught up on this season with OnDemand. I really love it, Andy and Ron are comedic gold. Really everyone on this show is top notch. I was kind of tripping out until I came into this thread since I thought that was a series finale. Really had a final feel to it. Amazing episode in it's own right with lots of classic lines. Glad to know it will be back next season as well. Really hope they stick with the 3 year jump. Ballsy of them to skip over the pregnancy, most shows would have milked that.

Paul Schneider, who was on the show the first two seasons speaks on his departure:

It's always weird to think back and remember that Adam Scott hasn't been with the show since day 1 and, for the first two seasons, we had a completely different "male lead" role. Every time Ben's onscreen, it's like he's always been there.

I love that Jon Hamm was the new Jerry. Too bad his was probably a cameo and not something long term in the future. Really excited to see what they have in store for next season. I love it when old shows inject some new life into them like this.

In both his appearances on NBC Thursday night ironic comedies, Hamm has played a total idiot. :funny:

Well with Mad Men coming to a close soon and depending on where they start the next season in the time line we could see him again. But more than likely they will pick up after he was already fired

Drunk Ben is the funniest damn thing. The scenes with him, Ron, and Ron Dunn killed me.

My favorite thing about that last episode was that Cones of Dunshire actually took off and became a thing. :D

I just love the trajectory Leslie's pregnancy arc took...

Week 1: "Hey, I'm pregnant!"
Week 2: "Oh ****, it's triplets!"
Week 3: "Hey look, they're already three years old."

:lmao:

Just watched the last episode. This show never ceases to amaze me.

Did they name the three kids yet? I am thinking of Hilary, Ron and Eddard.

Didn't care much for the Wifi in Pawnee mini storyline until the Cones of Dunshire.

I laughed at the Menus part of the segment at Tom's Bistro when it opened.

Ron, Ron-Ann, and Ron-Mance Rayder.

:awesome::awesome::awesome:

Schur said to EW that most of season 7 will be three years later, but that their will be flashbacks to fill the gaps.

I think that was my favourite episode of Parks and Rec. It was mainly a love letter to the of six seasons of the show (Jon Hamm getting to throw in a "literally") and a big reset that can strengthen or weaken the show.

Ending the series after seven is the right time to go. At this episode count, The Office was turning into an unfunny mess.
