Pedro Pascal is Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic

It was a different universe that we'll probably never see again. I don't get why it matters so much.

it matters to me because honestly i was somewhat traumatized by seeing on screen heroes that i admire treated so disgustingly and in poor taste. Tone wise it felt more like DC. Plus it was the first MCU appearance for many of those characters and it was anticlimactic.

again i spent a lot of my life reading comic books (i admit i am somewhat emotionally invested in some of these fictional characters)- so to have a writer come in who clearly doesn’t respect these characters and treat them like dog meat is like someone else taking a crap on my bed. Alternate universe be damned.

theres a difference between being smart and wise. Also it was literally 2 minutes total. Not much to go on if we are being honest
This isn't about scripted actions. It's about screen presence. Krasinski is as convincing as a genius as Chris Pratt was as a science teacher in Tomorrow War. It's very against type for him and he's yet to show he can believably act against type.

Yep, that was my point. Like I said, I do love Krasinski as an actor but I'll never buy him as the smartest man alive.

newest rumor is, that the actor for RR was in a Starwars movie.
Rumor came from Grace Randolph. Though I thought, she‘s a troll, she said 3 weeks ago, that the director already has directed a MCU series.

So could be someone out of Adam Driver, Domhall Gleeson, Diego Luna, Donald Glover, Riz Ahmed or even John Boyega

why only those actors? a lot of people have done SW films over the last few years.

^those were just some examples... if you have others in mind feel free to share

Hmmm... maybe Alden Ehrenreich?

Edit: Never mind. Just saw that he was cast in Ironheart. So unless Reed Richard's plays a significant role in that show, he's out of the question.

Just saw on twitter that Krasinski might not be Reed Richards, thank God! :db:

At first I didn't want him because the fans got annoying with the fan casting, then after seeing MoM I hated the idea of it so much that it would have ruined my enjoyment of the movie when it eventually comes out. Imho he was terrible as Reed Richards.

Everything is pointing to Penn Badgley being the front runner. I'd be okay with this casting.

As much as I want Krasinski as that blasted Richards, I will be ok with Penn too...he looks the part and has the acting chops too.

BTW Doom has said he has a problem with the name of this thread...HE is the smartest man alive...not that BLASTED RICHARDS ;)

it's clearly Hayden Christensen ... lol

:ndd:

but, y'all only listing main cast... not even thinking about Easter egg/cameos, of smaller characters

Don’t play with my feelings. If you look at this thread, I have fancasted the guy in the spoiler tag already 4 years ago. This would be the perfect Reed for me

I root for Krasinski to the extent that I haven't thought of anyone else. I'm sure there are several others who could fit the role.

Just a moment ago, I stumbled across a weird suggestion online.
Freddie Highmore.
Has he got the charisma for something like this? I somewhat doubt it.
The acting chops aren't really there either.
Doesn't he also feel a bit young for Reed (despite being 30)?
What I do know is that he could do the lanky and awkward/nerdy science guy very well. That's his *thing*, his strenght.

Edit: what about Joseph Gordon-Levitt? That would be cool, bordering on awesome
He won't do it but I can still have him as my fav

I think Highmore looks too "soft" to be Reed Richards. Richards is a manly genius, I can't picture Highmore facing down and defeating Dr. Doom.

I already said he's not a good choice. You don't need to convince me of that, my friend :)
Highmore as Reed is just an interesting thought in theory, but it isn't going to work.

But with that said, Gruffudd did kinda look a bit soft back in the 2005 film. If we're nitpicking... :cwink:

Lol "manly genius" is not a description I ever would've thought of for Reed
I could see Highmore getting it if they go young

If they go adult, I'd rather Krasinski, mostly because I have no idea what a Penn Badgley is

I disagree completely. He's a superhero, and the leader of a team of superheroes. And especially back when Kirby drew him, he had a good physique. He was an explorer leader type, the sort you saw a lot in '60s shows. In fact, in the original FF cartoon, he had a deep commanding voice. He's beaten Dr. Doom one on one. I've never, ever thought of Reed as a prissy scientist type.
