I may be the only one, but I thought there was just a bit too much sex in this episode. I don't mind a little ooh la la, but a montage of near porn was a bit much. :(

Ew Viktor! :funny:

Was Vanessa possessed by Hecate? When she was praying, it seemed like she was knocked out, and then she was running straight to Ethan's arms. Don't get me wrong, I ship them so hard but the way they showed the sequence of events worries me that she's not the real Vanessa. And then she's now suddenly all flirty with him. I need this to be real, OK?! :p

The montage of all of them preparing the house for an attack in their own ways was awesome. I LOVE this show!!! :hrt:

I also fully support the Vanessa/Caliban BrOTP! :awesome: I wish Vanessa recognized Lily. It's just a haircut and a dye job! Come on, girl!

I was thinking that Vanessa should have recognized Lily as well. Maybe because the heavy accent was gone...?

She is not. I mean, unless Malcolm screwed Vanessa's mother for decades, which I don't believe was the case. What made you ask that?

Anyway, this episode shall be known as one where everyone had sex, Frankenstein included, and Ethan was cock-teased. :woot:

So, I was right about
Sir Malcolm's wife. That scene of her hallucinating her dead children was great.

It feels like a great episode for a mid-season, the plot thickens, character relationships complicate and things are getting really ****ed up. Can't wait for the next episode. I am curious about what is exactly madame Kali doing to Sir Malcolm though... Is she using her magic just to seduce him, or does she have something more sinister in mind...?

Oh, and for a moment I thought we'll finally get to see Dorian Gray's portrait, but no. **** it.

It's just one of those things that came to mind especially with some focus being on Malcolm's wife. It would be extremely fitting if Vanessa was conceived from sin and that she was cursed even from conception. I hope Vanessa uses that book and kicks these witches ass I like my Vanessa dark powerful and confident as opposed to weak vulnerable and whimpering.

Yeah I definitely want to see Vanessa all powerful and kicking those witches' butts. It'll be not without consequences though I'm afraid.

I love this scene... She is so nice to him!

So we had old people sex, gay sex, and necrophilia all in five minutes. :funny: Never change Showtime. Never change.

Oh and anyone else rooting for Dorian and Angelique? Im excited for Dorian to put those snobby high socity pricks in their place.

I still find Dorian's story on the boring side and too detached to everything else but oh yeah, I'm rooting for Dorian and Angelique.

Yeah, it was too much. Or, more precisely, it lasted too long. I was like "god-effin-dammit is this thing going to last till the end of the episode?"

Something seemed off with Vanessa. For a second I thought that she might be possessed again. Eva Green can channel such a dark vibe. I recall first season and the way it had me always guessing when she was possessed and when not. She did a marvelous job at that.

But Ethan's look in the end - "Really? Even Frankenstein got laid in this episode." :woot:

And yeah, I can't believe she didn't recognize Brona.

By the way, if I got it right, "Ethan Chandler" is not Ethan's real name?

Well, it is not impossible I think. I'd have to rewatch some episode from season 1, but I do not think there's anything that completely eliminates the possibility.

As for the book, I hope Vanessa will toss it in the fireplace. The price seems to be too high and I don't want her to use it.

I was half expecting her to smile an evil grin when Ethan tucked her in. :hehe:

Yup. It looks like that's also a fake name.

The climax was amazing. Sexy, horrific, disgusting*.

* Having sex with the woman you killed, resurrected, and is like a daughter to you is kind of gross.

But kind of hot too. Im not gonna lie.

Im loving John and Vanessa interactions. Always good.

Im glad Ethan didnt have sex with Vanessa. Dunno why.

I wonder what Ethan's real name is.

That final scene with Mrs Harker was pretty messed up. Creeped me out.

Me, too, but I don't know if Dorian is capable of a long term commitment. :(

Other than some thematic similarities it has had nothing to do with anything. Hopefully there will be a worthwhile conclusion to the arc, some kind of a twist that lets it integrate into the larger story. This season has been better than the last about integrating the disparate plot threads into the main one but Dorian has been even worse.

I think the fact that the book was introduced is because it will be an integral device or option later on. Vanessa will either consider it or outright do it and it will lead into events for season 3.

Dorian is the price we have to pay for Eva Green's perfection I guess.

John Logan said that Vanessa and Caliban are his favorite characters, and really shows. The scene this Ep...it's...it's beautiful.

Chekhov's gun. It has to play an important part. I just hope Vanessa won't actually use it, but will come rather close to it or the book will be utilized in a a different, rather unexpected way.

It won't be long until he wants her as his bride you know since Frankenstein kind of screwed him (his bride).

I actually want her to use it and put the fear of God in these witches, I think she will have no choice but to use it especially since queen witch has her claws in her "father" now and the witches just seem to evasive to deal with by physical means.

I binged from episode two and caught up. Eva Green is killing it.

I thought the temptation of Sir Malcolm and Victor/Lily's attraction would be a slower burn, but so far it's been well done.

As much as I'd like to see this (and trust me, I really would), it seems that the book would set Vanessa on a dark path, irreversibly. As for witches being evasive, they should just hunt and kill them during the daylight, though I can see how this wouldn't make a good climax.

I assume Ethan being a werewolf will play a more important part in destroying witches than book, actually, and I hope we'll get to see him butcher them. Which reminds me, given the "Lupus Dei" inscription in latest episode, I wonder if it's an old name for a werewolf in general or does the devil refer to Ethan himself, with inscription being the prophecy as Ser Malcolm suggested...?
And for someone who doesn't remember what happens when he transforms, he reacts rather strangely to everything wolf-related.

In the promo for the next episode it shows that
Ethan transforms, whilst being chained in the basement. So it seems we'll find out more about that.

And I think it was mentioned that Ethan will have his own episode in this season.

The Angelique storyline was rather poignant considering Bruce Jenner's transformation and the reaction to it. How long do we have to wait before it connects with the main story?

What was the point of Evelyn pricking Sir Malcolm twice? Did she not get enough blood the first time?

The part where Mrs. Murray got pins stuck in her brain squicked me out big time. I guess Evelyn's angling to be the next Mrs. Murray so she can get into that house.

I don't like the Inspector, but I can't say why. He has every right to be investigating those murders.

I can't wait for that new werewolf to catch up with Ethan. Should be epic.

Calibessa is an absolutely adorable couple.

I'm surprised that Vanessa didn't pick up that something was wrong during tea even if she didn't recognize Brona. I guess it says something that the circles she runs in are so weird that an obviously confused, lying, reanimated corpse doesn't make her blink. :funny:

You're not the only one. I feel that shows like this, Black Sails, and Game of Thrones would be better if they pulled back on the sex a little. Though GOT hasn't been too bad here recently.

That ball room blood scene was glorious. Frankenstein sleeping with his son's old lady, mayne.

It was a beautiful scene. But, aside from that it was a rather weak episode. Everyone gets to meet everyone (or in case of Frankenstein learn about two characters he knows meeting each other) and quite conveniently, Ethan, the only person who would recognize Hecate and Brona, is also the only person that was absent from the ball.

Also I found it odd that Hecate would introduce herself by that name to Frankenstein, as much as she knows, Ethan could tell him about her like he did to Vanessa. If Vanessa overheard it or learned of her name, she would put two and two together. Actually, Madam Kali and her witches seem to take unnecessary risks and for some time now I can see few ways that might lead to their demise. After barely known, Lovecraftian antagonist of the first season, these witches are somewhat disappointing.

By the way, Lyle seemed a bit strangely out of character in this episode, much more ballsy and direct with the witches... many things seemed a bit contrived and badly conceived when it comes to the writing of this episode. It is definitely the weakest one of the season.

Or some of her old personality is coming back. At least that's how I took it.

I actualy am liking the witches a lot, last season the main villain's mistery worked very all at first, but by the end of the season that villain ended up feeling kinda forgetable and one-note, what was more interesting was what he caused, like vampire Mina and that servant of his that was caught in the first few episodes.
