People Who Really Think They Are Vampires

From wiki:

Description and common attributes
It is difficult to make a single, definitive description of the folkloric vampire, though there are several elements common to many European legends. Vampires were usually reported as bloated in appearance, and ruddy, purplish, or dark in colour; these characteristics were often attributed to the recent drinking of blood. Indeed, blood was often seen seeping from the mouth and nose when one was seen in its shroud or coffin and its left eye was often open.[20] It would be clad in the linen shroud it was buried in, and its teeth, hair, and nails may have grown somewhat, though in general fangs were not a feature.[21]

Other attributes varied greatly from culture to culture; some vampires, such as those found in Transylvanian tales, were gaunt, pale, and had long fingernails, while those from Bulgaria only had one nostril,[22] and Bavarian vampires slept with thumbs crossed and one eye open.[23] Moravian vampires only attacked while naked, and those of Albanian folklore wore high-heeled shoes.[23] As stories of vampires spread throughout the globe to the Americas and elsewhere, so did the varied and sometimes bizarre descriptions of them: Mexican vampires had a bare skull instead of a head,[23] Brazilian vampires had furry feet and vampires from the Rocky Mountains only sucked blood with their noses and from the victim's ears.[23] Common attributes were sometimes described, such as red hair.[23] Some were reported to be able to transform into bats, rats, dogs, wolves, spiders and even moths.[24] From these various legends, works of literature such as Bram Stoker's Dracula, and the influences of historical bloodthirsty figures such as Gilles de Rais, Elizabeth Bathory, and Vlad Ţepeş, the vampire developed into the modern stereotype.

It's a shame they all choose to emulate the girly Anne Rice style of vamp. Imagine the hilarity if they went the Rocky Mountain Way?

Yeah, I've read similar articles about science debunking the ideas of vampires and zombies. I guess that's why they are supposed to be "supernatural", because they defy science, I suppose. Never heard of the Highgate Vampire, though. Sounds like a ghost story gone out of hand.

From a guy who has no problem dissecting cadavers, this makes me sick. :csad:

I'd gladly offer up my neck for sucking to any self proclaimed vamps..vampires..

I remember one day when I was at school, my friend and I were at a pep rally at the football field, and we saw some freak dressed as a vampire, wore the sunglasses, had the cloak, the fake teeth, and hissed. We joked the hell out of him.

Either that or your balls haven't dropped, yet. :o

Here's Don Henrie trying to convince everyone he's really a vampire, as well as a story about some other freak that kidnapped a girl for the purposes of drinking her blood:

Don Henrie my ass. That's a ****ing Asian Kid. Somebody better take his ass back to mathletes. :o

That Don Henrie video was hilarious. :lmao:

What a freak.

As long as they're doing a circle suck of each other, fine. When they start attacking people not in their clique, then we'll have issues.

When I was in high school, I actually knew a group of kids who thought similar things. One thought he was a werewolf thing, another a witch, and one a vampire. Now, if you really pushed them to it, they would admit it was all a fantasy, but nonetheless, they maintained their charade. I think they just needed people to believe they were special.

I actually think Marilyn Mansons keyboard player summed this up the best, I'll parahrpase...

Can you turn into a bat, or a puff of smoke? No? Do you burst into flames when you go out into the sun? No? Do you need to drink human blood to survive? No? Then you're not a f**king vampire, grow the f**k up.

Did you go to school in sunnydale?

I wound up going with a buddy to hang out with these two girls and they pulled out a vampire role playing game. I kind of liked the biting even if it was weird. Unfortunatly the party ended early but we were invite back for more debouchary.

You said it yourself: they're pseudo-intellectuals. And they are definitely having trouble separating fantasy from reality. I wonder if it has something to do with an inferiority complex at it's heart. They lose the ability to separate reality from fantasy, have some self-esteem problems and find something in all of this supernatural fantasy stuff that enables them to have some confidence and so they latch onto it and it just snowballs after that. At that point, it becomes a self-feeding ego-trip where they convince themselves more and more that they are special and better than everyone else. Doesn't help when one of them gets some media attention like this Don Henrie guy, either, because it just reinforces it for them and gives them a medium to draw in other folks who are lacking something in their lives that they get the idea being a "real vampire" can fill in for them.

Theres so much I want to say about this post but Im biting my tongue. We dont need to go there.

Don't bite your tongue, Ed! Share your thoughts!

I, too, know a few folks in the Pagan/Wiccan community that are REALLY into vampires and witches and the like but they aren't so far gone to think that they are actually vampires.

At any rate, Dick Cheney scares me. :(

No, see in Sunnydale, they wouldn't have been fantasizing. :o

Just another note, of the three kids, one is in rehab, another had years of therapy, and the third is happily married with a little one. At least that was the last I heard.

Well, don't worry about offending me based on what I wrote in that post, if that's a concern. I was just thinking/wondering out loud about the mindset of folks who delude themselves into thinking such things. It's purely hypotheses and meant to stimulate discussion.

Did you just call me a ***** little girl?:whatever:
Lift up that little skirt for me ,pull back your hood and brush the sand out your clit.

Take that and apply it to Christianity.
I just find it funny that other self proclaimed (pseudo) "intellectuals" easily point and laugh at the fringe lunatics while never taking a step towards recognizing their own demons. One guy has a poster of Christopher Lee and the other guy has a poster of Willem Dafoe( or Jim Cavizavizell or however the **** you spell it)

I wasnt worried about offending anyone(or you Jag) just dont want to play "Wilhelm Advocate" in his absence. And I liked the direction the thread was going and dont want to derail it by being the jackass who brings up Christianity.
As for the people I do know in the Pagan community that believe wackiness like this.In their defense many of them have actual physical disabilities and I think thats what they're compensating for.

It's brilliant how you call me "little girl" even though I'm quite sure you are the one behaving like one.

It can be applied to religion in general, let's not limit it to just one if we're going to bring it up. :whatever:
