Iron Man Pepper Potts Has Been Cast!

I don't know about the casting of this movie. I think she's just OK for the role and she does have some star power. I think Matt Dillon should be Tony Stark not that coke head freak.

Anyone know the budget? Thats the tell-all.

I guess $150-160m.

Movies like IM can't have $200m budget, it's too big for them. But they also can't be $120-130m flicks, because if companies nned quality movies to get more money, they should pay for it.

So i think $150-160m is enough to make quality summer blockbuster.

I have nothing against Dillon, but RDJ is greater actor as I think.

Why?

Just watch his movies. In every his new film he is better than he was in previous. He always changes the way of choosing roles, so that's why he looks always new on screen.

You just watch Zodiac trailer, his character has so much energy, that you'll understand what I am trying to explain you.

She sucks, and she better not say anything dumb afterwards, like this is beneath her and she shouldn't have done it. I don't see her doing movies like this 'cause she seems like the snob type who thinks she's too artistic, yet she did Sky Captian.

I can honestly say I've never really liked anything she's been in but, Seven.

Certainly not someone I'd expected, much like the castings of Downey Jr and Howard, but honestly I'm ecstatic just as I was before with Downey Jr. Now, Jon just needs to cast Chow Yun-Fat as Mandarin and then we're all set.

I know what you are saying about Downey Jr, but i just dont think he is right for this role, Guy Pearce or Jared Leto would have both made better Tony Stark's IMO.

I like Iron Man but I haven't read much of his comics, I have the Demon in a Bottle TPB resting on my shelf but haven't read it yet so I don't know much about the character. Gweneth isn't my favorite actress but she has chops, she was really good in Proof with Anthony Hopkins, and she def. has a secretary type of look.

I agree with you about Gweneth. I believe she can look and play the part of Pepper potts, as the personal secretary and confidant to Tony Stark.

I think it would be awesome to see 3 Oscar-calibar actors on a comic book-type movie. Hopefully, the movie story/plot does not suck.

Thats the other thing I'm happy about. If so many high caliber, award winning actors are interested in the role, it must mean that the script mustn't be anything to laugh at. (I hope)

I'm not trying to be a negitive nelly but I just can't stand her, I actively avoid movies that she plays in. I'm not saying that I won't ever watch a movie that she's in (Because lets face it, if she was in say..Spidey 3 I'd still be there with bells on) and I'm not saying that she is the worse actress ever but I certainly believe that she is the most overrated and false. I use to be a fan of Jude's but now I'm indifferent leaning towards negetive so it's diffenately not the same for me.

Do you believe that Epic Movie will be a bad film?

I tend to find Paltrow overrated myself. It´s not that she´s a bad actress, but there was so much noise about her for a while, then after her Oscar win, she actually hasn´t received that much praise anymore. And I have no idea why some talk about her like she´s so beautiful and sexy, she´s kinda bland-looking to me. I feel kinda the same about Jen Aniston, for instance. It´s the fame thing. I have a friend - well, a friend I sleep with now and then, hehe, but still... - who´s ten times sexier than either of them, she isn´t in any lists cuz she´s anonymous.

Epic Movie? Like, what, based on the Epic Marvel comics?

epic movie is a parody of superhero fantasy hero movies

Like a Naked Gun or Scary Movie kinda thing? I´m a little tired of those multi-satire movies - Don´t get me wrong, to me Airplane! is one of the greatest comedies ever made, and some of those still make me laugh, but it has just become too repeated a formula.

lets not get too far off topic because i replied to your question ok?

Okay, I was just trying to answer ISS´s question about whether Epic Movie might be a bad movie or not. I just saw the trailer and it looks more like a satire of blockbusters in general with superhero movies thrown into the mix - I was surprised it didn´t have any gay jokes towards LOTR, for instance...

Favreau, Downey and Paltrow are all good names to be attached to this project, but the one that I was most excited about hearing was Stan Winston is designing the suit! That right there is enough to sell me!

The cast alone should garner attention from non-comic fans on its own merit. I dare say, if the dramatic scenes are good enough, this could be the first comic movie nominated for an Oscar that's not for vfx.

Nah, Batman Begins had Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman... It´s not the cast that keeps these movies away from the major Oscars, it´s Academy´s general prejudice on genre and fantasy movies - LOTR was the exception that confirms the rule, it was based on the work of a much-praised novelist, which has more "pedigree" to the mainstream culture, and it took three movies to win the major awards.

Spider-Man 2 was one of the most well-reviewed films of 2004 (a friggin' AFI selection to boot). Good cast or not, Iron Man would have to REALLY bring the goods like none other to garner Oscar attention.

Dont forget Terrence Howard and this is the greatest superhero casting since X Men was cast (besides Halle Berry). All we need is The Mandarin to be cast well and were set. Atleast now we know that acting won't be an issue.

A comic book movie will never be nominated for anything other than SFX at the Oscars. They are biased, anyways.

With Favreau as director acting quality was never an issue. :woot:
