PETA is the stupidest organization on the planet

As for the PETA thing, it's stupid.
Extremism is always stupid.

PETA Wants Fictional Space Vikings From the Year 40,000 to Stop Wearing Fur.

What does PETA thinks a Viking is?

I agree with everything you said now and before.

Hunting is not even a sport, since animals can't defend themselves against a gun.
Want to hunt fairly.....grab a knife and go at it, let see who wins in the end :woot:

Except for survival (food included, of course) there is no justification for hunting.

I would add that conservation can be a good reason for hunting. But it must be handled correctly and regulated and done in the interest of the ecosystem and other species.

Ecosystems can get out of balance and destroy entire species or harm them if a particular species invades or grows too large in an area. In those instances I do think its good to encourage hunting of the species doing the harm. At least until the ecosystem is balanced again. For instance, in my area in recent years we've had coyotes coming down from the mountains and killing pets, damaging property, and just causing problems. Relocating them isnt really an option and they cant go to pounds or shelters. Hunting them and killing them is the only effective way to deal with them. Same with mountain lions and bob cats. Luckily tho mountain lions and bobcats dont cause much trouble in my area. They keep to themselves.

In the case of deer, there is a problem with deer starving to death. Proper humane hunting can actually provide a deer with a merciful end. But not every deer shot is guaranteed to be starving or a potential victim of starving. Another reason Id support hunting deer is for population control. Their populations can swell and they migrate and move and that tends to lead to an increase in road accidents which harms or kills both people and deer. Its not the animal's fault, but its a problem nonetheless for humans and the deers, and once the population has swollen you cant undo it without culling the population somehow. Plus hunters that hunt to help control population usually use the meat or sell it or give it away so the animal thankfully doesnt die in vain.

It is stupid, but I also get the idea. It is like how films have removed smoking almost entirely for PG-13 and under films. An attempt to stop it being "normal". Doesn't make this less dumb, but I kind get the idea.

I get the all smoking thing, but vikings?
It's not like everyone will go out of a killing spree for pelts all of a sudden..
Smoking, on the other hand, it's at everyone's reach.

Besides, i always though that wearing fur was a big no-no for quite some years now.

I thought of that while i was writing, but it fells on the survival part.
I wasn't talking about just human survival, but in general.

There are other, more legitimate animal rights/welfare groups than PETA. Find one that doesn't funnel its money into pointless/misleading/out-right lying propaganda or manufactured outrages and instead donate to one that actually wants to make sure animals get treated humanely.

wild animals generally come into populated areas as a last resort. As humans take over their environments (be it physically or impinging on their food sources), they aren't left with a lot of choices. I'm not saying that people can't take over areas inhabited by wild animals, but there is a consequence of doing so. You know the saying....for every action....(although when I learned it in class it had a different application).

Of course something like this could also be due to drought or other climate changes....good thing people don't have any effect on the climate and the Chinese just made that up. :o

In Florida we have a big problem with exotics as well. Animals that simply shouldn't be here and are causing all sorts of havoc to our ecosystem (and in the case of some are an outright danger to humans). They range from pigs to peafowl to Rhesus monkeys to Burmese pythons and hundreds of other things.

It is in my book. The book of fire never lies.

Just realized this but is stupidest even a word? :hehe:

Yes. It's an adjective

Stupid - Nominative case (I think they might call it subjective case these days). The nominative case can generally be used as an adjective OR a noun.

Ex. DJ is a stupid man (adjective) - DJ is stupid (noun) :oldrazz:

Stupider or more stupid (Comparative case); it compares one case to another or others.

Stupidest or most stupid (Superlative case); the mostest...like you DJ. :cwink:

Don't you know the famous movie quotation, "Stupidest, as stupid does"? :hehe:

They should make a movie called "Forrest Hump". I don't think you'll be able to get it at Best Buy.

I'm pretty sure that's the name of the porno spoof. :o

Was watching South Park and was pissed off at PETA and was gonna write a hate letter to them then found this lol
