Ya know, Peter should have said something to that moron manager when he fired him. For one apparently the idiot just has one delivery guy, and yet he has that time limit guarantee.

Stupid jerk! I would've told him to go to hell.

I was watching it today and it just ticked me off. Also that guy should know better with the traffic in NY, and Pete just having that little scooter.

The biggest plot hole in Spidey 2 has to be when Peter calls MJ on the phone after he shows up late to the play. Why doesn't he tell her that he was late because he a car hit his scooter and destroyed it. It's exactly what happened. He doesn't have to tell her that he put on the webs and stopped the guys.

Kind of unrelated, but it made me think of it.

Thats true. That only show that Pete is not as bright as we think he is.

I agree -- if you listen to the commentary even Sam and Toby are saying that Pete isn't that savvy (it's in the bank scene, brought up by the toaster).

Yeah, I got mad at that too. He also shouda said that the usher wouldn't let him in.

I don't think it would have mattered what peter said, the fact that he missed out on it again was all that was needed....

besides, he left his scooter somewhere else so he couldn't exactly show mj, his crashed up wheels which were probably ten blocks back...

more than likely his other delivery peeps are out doing 'other deliveries' when his order came in, so the fact that pete was supposed to be around meant that he took the order hoping he'd get here before the others would get back and hence would be able to deliver the order (which is why he took it i guess).

the fact that he had a scooter meant he could cut through the traffic

all in all, it is silly but meh...it's reasonable...

Peter is a spineless wimp. He's not telling anyone off.

In the early comics, Peter would have really given it to Aziz or what ever the hell his name is.

Yea!! let's go kick Sam Raimi's A$$ for not taking this movie wayyyy to seriously, and not injecting our own personalities into a fictional character that doesnt exist!!! *slams fist on table*:whatever: :oldrazz:

Movie Peter does not have the balls to do that.

Forget telling off his boss. He should of just keeped the d@mn 12 pizzas! The b!$%# knew she wasn't ever gonna pay for them. He knew he lost his job, and she didn't pay for them, so screw it. No one would blame him he was broke and starving. He could've lived off those pizzas the whole movie lol.

Yes. But more than that I'd say a really weird thing is that after being almost killed by the thugs, Peter knew something really wrong was happening and still took one minute to calmly talk real silly (funny?) crap to those kids instead of going right after the criminals, who could have been shooting cops or innocent people in the meantime. One liners are really important for Raimi I know but still.

The real moron is the person who started this thread.

Not only is it silly to think this way in the context of this movie but it is unwise to burn bridges in real life.

If that's how you deal with people in real life... then, well... good luck with life.

It's also perplexing to see people once again trying to find excuses by making up things that happened off screen that the writers didn't even think once about while making this film... and for good reason: it doesn't matter!

The biggest plot hole in spider-man 2 is the car through the window. If ock needed info from peter..who he doesnt know is spider-man, why would he chuck a car at him?

I love it anyway though:D

yeah he definity would have killed peter and mj if he was spidey.

Well, that wouldn't be the classic Peter Parker that we know in the comics if he had done that. Maybe if he tried to plead with the lady like telling her he's gonna lose his job if she didn't pay for it, then maybe she could have given him some slack. Watching that scene again made me feel pity for poor Peter. :csad:

I don't think he should tell off his boss because that's not in his character. It's kinda hard imagining him do that 'coz u know he's Peter Parker. If it was Wolverine in the same situation[on a different delivery job], definitely I can see him do that.

Snikkkkt! :)

But I remember the pizza guy saying to Peter when firing him "I'm sorry Pete, you're a good guy, you're just not dependable", which means Pete was a good person to him so he should have given him another chance. But then again, the pizza guy still had reasonable grounds to fire Pete.

And you're right, it's not right to burn bridges; Peter accepted being fired and didn't tell off the pizza guy. He will not do that because like I said it's not in his character. This scene contributed to the plot of having downsides on being a Superhero and why Pete decided on quitting being Spiderman.

Yeah... And Pete and MJ just just standing there after the car dropped while you can see all the people running and screaming. What the hell were they waiting for?!? ...Maybe they believed, " Oh we're brave people, we just don't run away from an 8-armed freak." :woot:

I think Peter was late showing up to collect the delivery. He had like 7 minutes to deliver it, so obviously he was supposed to be there earlier, but he had been doing Spidey stuff. You see him stuff his mask in his pocket when he says there was "a disturbance".

Plus, the manager says he's just not dependable, which implies it's not the first time he's been late. And the manager said if he doesn't keep the 29 minute guarantee, he'll lose the customer.

Can't really blame him for firing Peter. He probably lost him a few customers.

I watched Spider-Man 2 last night. Nice surprise in the pizza scene; Aasif Mandvi is now on The Daily Show.
