You can't deny the truth at all my friend. Of course it's really a matter of different tastes.

Personally for someone to even compare Lucas to Jackson is pretty laughable in my opinion. As far as I'm concerned, Jackson's Lord of the Rings are very superior to Lucas's Star Wars Prequels.

While The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones suck, Revenge of the Sith is pretty good and is a lot better than the previous prequels.

But Lord of the Rings has more heart, more emotion, and better storyline in my opinion.

I think this could bea good combo if MGM is smart. Peter and Fran Write and produce the Hobbit and MGM hires Gore Verbinski to direct it. That would be an amazing combo. To be honest i am kinda looking forward to seeing what P.J could do with the Dragon story.

MGM knows they have to call P.J or at very least Ian Mc Kellan and Hugo Weaving.

MGM Talks Jackson For "Hobbit"

On September 22nd a petition with 39116 signatures upon it was delivered to MGM & New Line. It's aim? For the studio to get Peter Jackson and whatever members of "The Lord of the Rings" cast & crew back for the studio's forthcoming adaption of "The Hobbit".

Now this past weekend, The One Ring received a letter from MGM, with an official statement from Rick Sands, the company's chief operating officer. Here it is in full:

"Peter Jackson's phenomenal success with The Lord of the Rings trilogy makes him the first and most ideal choice for directing The Hobbit. MGM would be thrilled to collaborate with the Academy Award-winning director on this MGM New Line Cinema production. And, I'm sure to the delight of the 50,000 filmgoers who have petitioned us in recent weeks, demanding we bring this film to fruition, we have had a few initial conversations about the project with Mr. Jackson's representatives."

Not One, But Two LOTR Prequels?

At one point, we weren't even sure a feature film version of The Hobbit would ever see the light of day. Well folks, either MGM chief Rick Sands was all doped up on pipeweed or we're about to get not one, but two Lord of the Rings prequels. Sands made the comment while promoting MGM's future plans after Sylvester Stallone was presented with the ShowEast Icon Award in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday. According to Sands, MGM is currently in discussions with New Line for the rights to produce two prequels based on J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit.

Now, tell me if I'm out of line here, but they could make five prequels -- yet, if Peter Jackson isn't involved in any of them, then why even bother? It's important to note that Jackson's name wasn't mentioned, but you'd think the dude would play a role in some capacity, right?

Andy Serkis says no one hasn't yet contacted him on The Hobbit, but he'd do it if they'd just contact him. "Well it's very hard to turn down."

If they're going to do The Hobbit they need to get Jackson on board, Serkis, McKellen, and Ian Holm.

However, Holm and McKellen aren't getting any younger, so they need to stop sitting around and just allow this project to come to life.

The two movie idea is actually pretty clever IMO. You get the WHOLE book on film and two years to experience the story.

Personally, I think all the principle actors should come back, no doubt. But PJ is a busy guy and I REALLY want to see him do the Temeraire series after The Lovely Bones. Get Andrew Adamson to do it. He'll be done with Prince Caspian in 2008 and he can immediately begin work on The Hobbit. Get PJ, Fran, and Phillipa on the script writting and producing team as well.

I personally do not want Adamson to do it, after seeing Narnia. IMO this should be Peter Jacksons film and no one elses.
