British legend Bill Nighy ("Underworld," "Pirates of the Caribbean") is set to play a dark sorcerer in the upcoming fantasy adaptation "Shadowland" reports The Press Association.
The story follows a young university student lured by a charismatic old gentleman into a world of magic, but is forced to decide whether or not to join the forces of evil to save the life of his best friend.
"The Tudors" star Natalie Dormer is also onboard for this adaptation of Peter Straub's 1980 novel which Larry Leahy is scripting and Erik Canuel is directing.
Nighy's most recent credits include the soon to be released assassin thriller "Wild Target", the much anticipated "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One", and a key small role in an episode of "Doctor Who" which aired in the UK last week.
Loved the book. This, Ghost Story and Floating Dragon are my favourite Peter Straub novels
