Will this be the year that the Lizard finally gets the awesome depiction he deserves on the big screen, or the year we Lizard fans suffer a disappointment similar to that suffered by Venom fans 5 years ago?

I'm confident that the Lizard will be awesome on screen. His design (from what we've seen so far) isn't exactly what everyone was hoping for, but I don't think he's going to disappoint.

That was not the only point of contention though was it? I have seen an abundance of posters complain at length about the Brock/Venom depiction we did get, without any bearing on the amount of screentime. Brock was completely different from the version in the books, and people could have just as much of a problem with Doc Conners, esp if he is very different from his cb counterpart, and people do not like the new version.
Same with the Lizard persona, he has had many different levels of intelligence throughout his run in the comics, so there will not be a lot of room to complain about being faithful to the books, but a lot of folk might just not like how he is presented onscreen.

True. I don't think we'll have anything to worry about, anyways. Nothing we've heard so far has seemed outside of what the characters are.
