Cyclops as leader: there's none better.

Wolverine and Collossus: ya gotta have da fastball special. and i mean the REAL fastball special.

Iceman: some humor and the element of surprise. The kid can do some real damage if he has to.

Nightcrawler: stealth, spirit dashing good looks. what more do you want.

Rachel Grey: to cover the psi-related problems and for the raw power.

Shadowcat: also stealth and great character interaction with Wolverine, Collosus and Nightcrawler.

and finally Beast: every good team needs a "big brain" character. Dr Mccoy fills that role plus he's tough in a fight too. And he's got comedy and he's got character interaction. He rounds out the team nicely.

Adam X - the only Summers brother who has a personality, and the one with the coolest powers. definately team leader

Jubilee - I grew up with the 90's X-men cartoon, so I can't help but stick her in there somewhere. Also, she was probably the depoweree I was most upset about

Taskmaster - Photographic reflexes count as a mutant power, non?

Mesmero - Play him like in Weapon X, and you're gold

Bruiser - Because Runaways will end sometime, and she'll have to go somewhere

Jack Power - I'm thinking Jack as Counterweight, even though he's Mass Master again. He's not a mutant, but neither was Changeling, and he was an X-Man, sorta

Wolverine- But I'd have it be an impostor. Fang from the Imperial Guard, maybe. Actually... is Albert still around? Maybe him.
