Yea, we shouldnt have to worry to much about it looking realistic (I hope), considering the size of the budget and the quality of the sets we have seen so far. While watching Firefly (the episode premeire, I think--"Serenity Part 1 and 2"), when the Reavers are about to catch Serenity and they pull a crazy Ivan, I remember being very, very impressed with the effects. The reaver ship looked quite good in the atmosphere, especially because of the camera work/angle/focus/shake, that sort of thing.
But now I'm really confused since I don't remember it being confirmed that the space ship will actually be piggybacked by the boeing 777. And if it is, would they let all those people aboard just to for the launch?
In the blogs there is no space ship, just the plane, with Supes coming to save the day. But knowing Bryan, that could be just to fool us. It doesnt matter either way, really, as its going to look incredible--people in freefall as the plane is falling, crashing from one end to the other, the plane shaking so much that it looks like its going to fall apart. "A cylinder that will push 38.5 tons slightly in excess of 2 g." And in the blog they were only going to 20%, and it looked really rough! I wonder how much they went while filming. 60%? 80%?
