You are freakin deluded. But go ahead, play your pitiful, piss-poor games on your 360, inwardly knowing the games you're playing will never have a place among the best games of all time because of their severe lack of single-player experiences and poor grasp of game mechanics. There's a reason why at least six of the games in the majority of top ten lists are Nintendo games, with the top three games almost invariably being either Super Mario Bros., Ocarina of Time, or Super Mario 64. Nintendo also has four titles on the best-rated games of all time list on GameRankings.
And by the way, Gears of War didn't win Game of the Year on the majority of gaming outlets last year. Zelda did. And I'm sure we'll have more to talk about when Super Mario Galaxy or Metroid Prime 3: Corruption wins GOTY this year.
This I can agree upon.

You know, I was like you not too long ago. I was kinda childish and although my reasons were no doubt more intelligent than yours and at least somewhat credible, I still took this console war thing way too seriously. I decided that it's not worth the energy.
I'm also not sure where you were, but in the UK, Gears of War swept up most GOTY awards in our gaming press (the finest gaming press in the world, I might add). Zelda got one or two, but Gears pwned it, even in Gamesmaster (which is pretty much a nintendo ass monkey).
Plus, why do YOU care what wins what award? Does that give you a hard on, knowing that a bunch of sheep all decide the same thing? Do forgive me, but I can make up my own mind on what games I like. You sound like the stereotypical guy (no offense) who only goes on what's popular and what's winning awards, like those arthouse movie fans who only like the oscar winners and think that critical acclaim is the be all, end all of it.
I have my own taste. Quite frankly, I could give a damn if games I love win awards or not. I have Dead Rising and Gears of War and Condemned (sadly since Nintendo's core audience is 12 year olds and women, I highly doubt yuo have played any of them to judge

). But seriously, you should develop your own taste and not let awards and polls decide for you what you should like. You will pleasantly surprise yourself.
The fact is, Nintendo's titles haven't changed at all since the 80s. They do the same cutesy platformers with warm, feel good messages that they have always had. They are, in my opinion, stagnant. There's only so many cutesy platformers I personally can take. I prefer something that challenges me on complex levels, especially in terms of mature stories and characters which you won't find on Nintendo consoles for the most part (yes I know you are going to try and convince me that a little elfin guy running around killing cartoon monsters is somehow deep, but I won't buy it so don't waste your breath).
If you want to enjoy those type of games forever, be my guest. I like more mature things personally, but whatever floats your boat, floats your boat. But I am 98% sure the gaming fanbase for wii are women, kids and those who don't normally play games. I'm not critising that at all, I mean it works for the console. I'm sincerely not bashing it for appealing to a different audience. I want one myself at some point. But the serious gamer has only two choices: 360 and PS3. The wii just can't match them in what it can do, and what it can present. I feel like I am living in the games universes on 360, whereas on wii, so far all I have seen look sub psone graphics wise (and when you want competent, intelligent storytelling, graphics are important).
I'm just trying to tell you this. Deep down, I think you know I am right. But your love of Nintendo will never let you admit it. I probably wasted my life writing this post, hoping a part of you may see sense and reality, and maybe even break free of the shackles of what you have been told to like, and start deciding for yourself.
