I need to make a decision.
The prices are about the same, but what would you care most?
3D or 4 more inches?

Do you already have a 3D player & 3D movies to watch?

Sometimes 3D is great to have but other times when you aren't watching 3D then you wish that you had went with the bigger tv. Just spend a little more money & get a bigger 3D tv to begin with then you will at least have it when you want to watch 3D.

My opinion is 3D is not worth it. I don't see a future in it and there is far too little interest in continuing it (I believe most 3D set makers are discontinuing their lines) so it is a dead-end market. There are also limitations to it and the problem of eye strain, headaches and nausea that come from excessive viewing of it.

Of course it's also possible it will pick up and become more common place like Blu-Ray is over DVD but that's a gamble on new technology. It could also be the next Laser-Disc.

My idea was to connect the TV with the computer, to use it as a monitor and play the movies and series from there (I don't go games).

Yeah, I see your point. I also don't know much about 3D TVs, I know there are active and passive glasses, I don't know the quality of the 3D, if it looks just like on theaters or not.
I believe I read somewhere that you don't get 1080p 3D movies because each pixel goes to each eye, so you're really watching 720p 3D or something like that...
I mean, I don't know a lot, or if it's worth it. I'm towards a bigger screen than 3D to be honest, but I also need to know a little bit better about 3D, I guess.

3D doesn't work well for me either so I have even less incentive to get it. Someone with more interest or who owns one can say better about the specifics.

3D has a lot of disadvantages. Most of the movies are post-converted, meaning the 3D is fake in many areas (visual effects are real 3D though), and also english isn't my native language, which means I need subtitles. I can watch a movie without subtitles and still understand 95%, I've became very good at understanding, but I also like to watch movies with friends, which means subtitles are obligatory and with 3D movies and the .srt files in can become a little messy. I'm towards the 46'' right now, unless some 3D defender comes along to give their own valid arguments!

just get the bigger tv. 3d is not meant for home viewing yet.
