Sequels Poll:Which films should X-Men 4 and X-men 5 follow

This is question to see how fans would like the just announced X-Men 4 and
X-Men 5 carry on from earlier films.

I don't think this will be the Bryan Singer version of Phoenix.But I think there Is chance of these contuning after X2.It's more likly a version of days of future past without out having to deal with the negative efforts of The Last Stand If they go In this direction.

If they can COMPLETELY remove X-Men: The Last Stand. And redo Bryan's ORIGINAL idea for X3, then I'm all for it.....


Sadly, they can't do it....it'd be a tough sell to market. And seeing as how Fox made the most money in the franchise from X3: The Last Stand, they'll never reconn it for fanboys.


I would like to see X4 and X5 be epic in the same vein as X2: X-men United, instead of the much to fast, badly paced, travesty that was X3: The Last Stand.

I would have it set in the same continuity (of X-Men, X2: X-Men United and X3: The Last Stand) it IS workable and make X4 and X5 as back-to-back stories.



X4:
-Bolivar Trask has been introduced in X-Men: The Last Stand.
- We are introduced to Nathaniel Essex in X4.
- He works for Trask as a scientist, helping him throughout the film.
-After seeing the events on Alcatraz Island, Trask has begun work on "Project Wide Awake".
- Now, without Xavier, the school has moved forward with Beast and Storm as the primary teachers.
-Logan has left the school.
- Angel has stayed.

The X-Men consist of:

- Colossus
- Iceman
- Angel
- Shadow Cat
with Storm and Beast participating in the finale.

We are also introduced to a mysterious, loner, character, Remy Lebeau. He's older, in his mid 40's...

He serves as an "ambassador" and acolyte to Magneto, who is still de-powered. He comes to warn the X-men about what Erik has discovered about "Project Wide Awake. Realizing he has little power and options...Magneto joins the X-men...as a tactician and leader.


By films end, Magneto refuses to permanently join the X-men, and now that he has full rage of his powers, leaves them...going on his own--Gambit stays with the X-men.

At the end of the film, the Sentinels turn, beginning to hunt humans, and now the X-men must stop them to save the humans. The mysterious Nathaniel Essex reveals his true self as Mr. Sinister--and he has been spending his time re-programming the Sentinels to do his own bidding....to help unleash the "Age of Apocalypse".

The film ends with a cliff hanger that Mr. Sinister has had Scott Summers captive and the films ends with a fight between a "reprogrammed" Cyclops and the younger X-men and Gambit.


X5:
The next film is the X-men racing against the clock to find Sinister and stop him before he is able to release Apocalypse. Cyclops, recovering from his enslavement by Sinister now works to regain the X-men's trust and re-emerge as the leader of the team.

Realizing the severity of the situation, Magneto returns to aid the X-men in stopping Mr. Sinister from releasing Apocalypse. The film ends with one of the final "keys" needed to unleash En Saba Nur being Charles Xavier himself...revealed to be alive, living in Scotland, not fully aware of who he is.

The next film, would just be an all out globe trotting film taking down Apocalypse and having Angel captured and turned into Archangel and maybe introduce Dark Beast as the Judas of the X-men, with the X-men team consisting of:

Cyclops
Iceman
Beast (Until he betrays them)
Shadow Cat
Storm
Colossus
Gambit

And the brotherhood

Magneto
Pyro (returns)
Sabretooth
Mystique
Toad
Avalanche

I think there is still potential to right much of the wrongs from the third film, and still give us entertaining stories....I think X-Men: First Class is a step in the right direction....I would like to, however, see at least a couple films set after X3: The Last Stand to give some characters who were shafted justice.

Psylocke's part in X3 was very small, they didn't even mention her name and they can bring her back as a major character just like Emma Frost, Beast and even Sabretooth.

If they do have X4 following on from X-Men: The Last Stand then i would somehow work Cyclops back into the film, its possible as they did not show his death...

I want X4 and X5 as a continuation of X3.

X4 doesnt need to start just two months after X3, so they can do many things about the plot and use of the characters.

Bryan will find a way to tell a good story and continue the saga in a more elegant way.

So he will be fine.

X4 and X5 can be set after The Last Stand without addressing directly the events of Teh last Stand.Magneto was regaining powers at end,and post credits scene had Xavier waking up in new body.WHich the DVD commantary explained was Xavier's braind ead twin brother.Thus Bryan Singer has just have xavier In charge and depowered characters like rogue with powers again.Bryan didn't do The Last Stand so It would be his chance to do stuff with Angel,more with Beast and Kitty,and possibly bring In Gambit,and a possibilty of bringing back Nightcrawler.

Well he could fudge and say that wasn't really Psylocke In Last Stand I think Gambit will be only possibly new X-Men.Unfortunly Cylops and Jean fans may have to wait for First Class sequels to get their dose of them.

Only Arclight and Quill were seen being vaporised, the camera wasn't on Psylocke at that moment. She could have teleported away.

Well from Interviews from james Mcavoy and Rose Bryne on First Class There Is Evidance
to support those who support X4 and X5 as sequels to just X-Men and X2 may get our wishes.

I doubt Bryan leaves Beast, Angel and Kitty out of X4.

So there will be a real connection with X3.

The more I think about it, as long as Singer comes back for X4, I believe Cyclops's chances of returning are pretty high. Singer and Marsden seem to be good friends, especially with Marsden following him to Superman. Wishful thinking? Maybe. But well within the realm of possibility. Jean's return, though, seems a bit more of a stretch. We'll see how it goes.

Beast will defently be In x4 and 5.Singer likes the character.Hopefully Kitty will be used.
My dream would be Kitty becoming Shadowcat.Angel might be left for First Class sequels.
If Ryan Reynolds can play Deadpool In film which Ignores Wolverine then If they are willing Kelsey Grammer,Ellen Page,and Ben Foster could return In film which doesn't exactly follow The Last Stand's contunity.And if Bryan Singer does X4 and X5 as a two part filmed back to back event like Lord of the Rings,The Hobbit,The Matrix sequels,and
Pirates of the Caribean 2 and 3 we could be In for quite a treat.

I can only assume Days of Future Past will be the X4/5 storyline since that's what Shuler Donner seems to want. Does anyone think we could get Rachel Summers? I don't know how likely that is, but we've had a Summers character in every X-film so far... If not Rachel, what character might they use in her place?

I'd like to see more of the Danger Room, as well as a rebuilt X-Jet since it was destroyed by Phoenix.

Rachel Is problematic since Is Cyclops and Jean's daughter(granted from Alternate timeline) with Ignoring The Last Stand they could have Psylocke change consescious with Eather Rogue or Kitty(To get Anna Paquin back they may have her the one changing places with her past self)

Hopefully we get a good Danger room training sequence.

Bryan Singer can do as he proved In X2 do an decent job of showing the ensemble.X2

The camera was very much on Psylocke at that moment. She's clearly vaporized and, honestly, who cares? Why would anyone want that version of Psylocke to continue, anyway??? Small roll or not, that is one of the worst translations of an X-Men character in all 5 films.

While we're at it, scrap Ben Foster's Angel too. Although a good actor, Foster was a terrible choice for Angel and the character was next to worthless.

I think it would be a disrespect for FOX and Bryan Singer (if he's the director) to just ignore X3 and bring back Cyclops/Jean Grey back from dead w/o explanation.

Didn't you guys remember Superman Returns became "the Sequel" for Superman II and looked how it turned out.

Plus they don't need to recast Angel, just give him a good story and they'll be great and thats the same for Colossus.

Hmm, I remember at one point Shuler Donner had mentioned a New Mutants film. I have no clue if that would ever happen, but if she wants it in the future, I could see Cable being shoehorned into X4 or 5. Maybe to take Rachel's place in the Days of Future Past storyline?
