This one I can agree with. I just see that and go ''Don't see what's the big deal."Star Trek. All versions and incarnations. Never saw the appeal.
Lost. I just know I don't have the patience for such a show, waiting week to week, year to year for answers...but I also know its probably something I would enjoy so I am going to wait til the series is complete, buy the DVDs and go from there.
Seinfeld - I just can't like a show where I absolutely hate all of the characters.
Everybody Loves Raymond - Yes, it is better than most sitcoms, but thats really not saying much.
Friends - Completely mystified as to why this was so popular.
The human race had just been wiped out (save a few thousand) by a hostile force. The military pretty much was the most important thing in their survival. That's one reason I'm kinda not as into Battlestar as I could be as they make Adama and his military seem like the be all end all of importance to the survival of the human race...like President Roslin just doesn't matter at all, when she's usual right and they are wrong as all hell....but you know I haven't even finished the series, so my opinion might change, I very much doubt it though.
I've never even seen any of the Stargate Franchise to begin with. It just never jumped out at me as something I wanted to watch.Ah. I take it you were never a fan of Stargate SG-1? I mean, as far as military themes go, that's the only science fiction series I know of where the protagonists walked around alien planets in fatigues with modern P90 submachine guns.
The NID was the shadowy government conspiracy group that, in fact, employed its own paramilitary units. Like an anti-SGC. The civilian group that only held the military back was the IOA. All they seem to want to do is meddle in the SGC and Atlantis operations in just the right way to totally nerf the organizations' effectiveness. It's almost comical how out of touch they are.Ah. Well, Stargate SG-1 was so military-centric, it made Battlestar Galactica look purely civilian based. And unlike Galactica, Stargate sorta glorified the military. For the first 8 or 9 seasons, the only civilian main characters were Dr. Daniel Jackson and Jonas Quinn (who was only there for season 6). It takes place in an underground military base. Civilian groups like the N.I.D. always come off as antagonists who only hold them back.
Trust me, if you had been watching Stargate SG-1 regularly beforehand, you'd be watching Galactica like "Wow, an effective presidential character who doesn't hide off-camera and impede the progression of the main characters' goals!"
O_O
How dare you make such a mockery of the great Catherine Tate, DarthKush.
I'll admit the facial expression isn't exactly the best to capture her in though.![]()
