Porn

eh... isn't V not good for ya when your young though? and alot just dont use it

Viagra is not good no matter on the age it can (abeit in rare cases) cause heart attacks.

Yes, Viagra carries quite a few health risks despite the age. It's also HIGHLY inadvisable to user poppers or things like amyl nitrate if you've been taking Viagra, Ciallis or any of the other "*****" drugs as it could result in death, which is often permanent. :o

Obviously, there are countless people who could argue how porn might affect society positively, even people in organized religion. I'd probably be far more insecure about sex and my own sexuality without porn. My parents never told me ANYTHING about sex. Contrary to family sitcoms and drama shows, I was never sat down and given "The Talk". And this applies to a lot of stuff parents should be talking to their children about.

I agree that many parents are lax in giving their children an effective introduction to sex, but I really don't think porn is a reliable substitute to fill in the gaps. Porn doesn't aim to represent the reality of human sexual relationships, just a quick-fix *********ory fantasy.

And while I do believe porn can and does serve a purpose in society (eg: it's easier, cheaper and safer to look at porn than to go down to the street corner if you feel the need for quick sexual release), it also has links to the problems that often plague the traditional "vice" related industries.

Just skimming through the pages (this thread sure has grown, hasn't it? :cwink:) I got a couple of questions.

1. It was determined SG is Suicide Girls, yes?
2. Which porn industry practices "No Penetration"?

2. softcore?

yeah softcore porn on skinemacs and showtime are all "fake" porn imo.... personally wouldnt suprise me if the guys in them are gay or hell, not even hard during the "acting". the soul market for softcore has to be highschool boys, who will beat off to about anything.

2. It's more accurately referred to as the 'sex industry' which includes all things erotic. SG got brought into this thread when lemmasaurus mentioned her 'friend' who has made it her life's goal to model for a nudie pinup site. The discussion broadened somewhat to include women who pose nude for sexual puposes, which can include penetration or exclude it.

The "Sex Industry" is a pretty all-inclusive term, in my experience, applying to all things related to sexuality but not necessarily sex. For example, strippers and professional Dominatrices consider themselves sex workers, but they don't have sex with their clients (there are always exceptions to that rule, of course, but for the most part they don't). They work in areas that are rooted in or related to sexuality, but there's no actual sex occurring. Oriental Massage with the "happy finish"? Sex workers. Suicide Girls? Sex workers. Girls who let guys take pictures of their feet, no nudity inolved, for *********ory purposes? Sex workers. It's a pretty broad industry and term, really.

Ah, gotcha. You mentioned posing for them? Was it a magazine shoot or internet shoot or what? Sounds pretty interesting.

SG allows girls to produce photosets on their own, working with their own photographer or a staff tog in their area- then submit the set electronically to HQ, who then chooses to buy it or reject it. Once a girl has had one set bought by HQ, she is considered a Suicide Girl, and gets all benefits that go along with that. It allows girls from all over the world to be a part of the site without having to travel to LA.

In the early days, pretty much anyone who submitted a set would be accepted, but since the site exploded in popularity, the quality requirements for the sets has gone up incredibly. The up in popularity has also brought the onsluaght of the 'hopefuls' which are girls who dedicate their entire lives to becoming an SG, (and often have their sets rejected again and again and again, but want that SG status so bad they keep trying) which is kind of sad.

Better that than having the ambition of being in a "Girls Gone Wild" video.

So I assume you had a set(s) bought? What are the requirements to the site now?

Currently looking up SG on Wiki along with John Williams.

EDIT: Ha ^, that was totally meant to be typed in an AIM convo :embarrassed:

Yep. I had a set bought back in 2004, it was published on the front page of the site in 2005. Ironically, I had no tattoos at that point, just a ring in my lip and ear. There are actually quite a few non-tattooed girls there.

As far as nudity, the requirements have always been boobs and ass shown, preferably by the 10th picture in the set. Anything further is up to the comfort level of the model, but they prefer no 'gyno' shots. (Closeups, spreadshots)

The photography quality requirements are what have gone up. It used to be that you could take a set in a messy bathroom with a 2 megapixel camera and get accepted. My set wouldn't be accepted nowadays by the standards, but I love it for its simplicity. Mine was taken in my dorm room with a sheet for a background, haha.

There are huge discussions and groups dedicated to helping hopeful girls learn how to get the lighting just right, poses and expressions down, suggestions on backgrounds and locations. Its a lot of work nowadays to put a set together that is up to standards without hiring a very professional photographer.

Its amazing how much the place has grown since I've been around. They've got books out, a burlesque tour, featured on CSI and in several music videos, and they're launching a comic book collaboration this year at ComicCon, so there will be tons of the girls around there, and lots of other top secret projects that will really launch them into mainstream. Its a huge business now whereas when I joined it was a small website.

Strange, tattoos make everything much more appealing. That's pretty cool that you were able to do that.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I think closeups, spreadshots, etc shots like that are kind of gross.

Funny thing, I saw a special on Showtime about a year on Suicide Girls. It was really interesting. They talked about the Burlesque Tour and a few other things. They pretty much interviewed a bunch of the girls and showed them on tour and stuff. Not sure how old the special is, or if it's a regular or not but it was pretty interesting. Unfortunately I couldn't finish the show since my youngest brother woke up and came onto the couch with me.

I think I'm going to start a Suicide Girls competitor site called "Dead By Their Own Hand Chicks" and bring back the more amateur feel that they started with.

Haha, yeah I know. I felt incredibly strange.

I'd totally support a DbtoHC site!

So you were payed for being on the site? may i ask how much?

I was paid $300 for about 40 pictures, but the standard price recently went up to $500. Now that the site makes mega cash, they have monthly prizes for girls- generally $1k based on a theme 'best black and white set' or 'best self shot set' which entices girls to go above and beyond. There are also a lot of freebies for the girls- free merch, concert tickets, opportunities to be stagehands at SG sponsored concerts, christmas gifts, prizes, etc.

Being an SG tends to open up a lot of opportunities for making more money by selling things to members, some of which will buy anything an SG has touches. I was offered a whole lot of money by someone who wanted to *********e on my feet. If I'd believed he was serious, I would have done it.

I think spreadshots are gross, too. I prefer a little playful mystery or a peek so much more.

I'm glad I was able to make it in before standards went up, too. I'd love to take another set, but I haven't found the time to put together what it takes nowadays, and there aren't any staff togs around me. :down

Was the special you saw the RealSex one? That's the only one I've seen, and it was really nifty.

Something you'll find while reading about SG is a lot of controversy and hate-sites. I'm always surprised at how vehemently people can hate a website. As with any business you'll get people who dislike the business practices or have disagreements with the staff and go on a vendetta against them. I don't really know how much truth there is to any of the rumors, but I've never had any of those problems.

Plenty of people have beat you to that. :o

There are three I can think of by name, who also have done away with the 'no penetration' stipulation, but still bank on the niche SG created.
