Iron Man 2 Possible ARG/Viral Campaign

Easy there, this is what I think happens.

Steve stops a bomb from reaching USA but falls into the ocean as a result of it. When he wakes up, everyone will be is enemy at the start, he's in the future, surrounded by people he doesn't know and new tech he will probably never understand. Steve will side with the military when he realizes what The Hulk is, raw rage. The military isn't the bad guy at all, they're just protecting innocent civilians from The Hulk, like in TIH, Ross says The Hulk killed countless civilians. And in Iron Man 2, they're not villains at all, Stark was a military poster-child for more than half his life. He made them amazing, new weapons. And they're just mad he won't share his/the worlds greatest weapon for military use on the battlefield. Which is what he was going completely against. If he gave over his suit to the military, he might as well blow himself and all his Iron Man suits up.

I'm fine with that. I'm just not sure sure how Starks dad really plays into that in a way that causes Tony to go looking for Cap...or a way that involves Crimson Dynamo.

Starks dad plays into it because well, Starks dad is almost the most important person in the Marvel Filmverse, to-date.

I get why he is important... were you trying to say he is almost the most important?

I dont get why he is important...they have to handle all of that in iron Man 2 while also handling everything else. He was involved with creating captain America who fought in World War 2 and then was presumed dead. The Soviets were our allies in WW2, and yet old man Stark did something to Crimson Dynamo that caused his son to seek revenge. Captain America could clear all this up if he wasnt presumed dead and in a block of ice. Tony discovers a dark secret about his dad by digging in his house.

How does all of this lead to "Tonys dad was a good person" when his dark secret involves a bunch of dead people?

Whatever Tony's dad might have done to Ivan's dad, it doesn't seem to have nothing to do with the Supersoldier program. Tony accidentaly finds out about it while he's investigating his father's past. Ivan's dad is not a military scientist as far as we know. And you can't discart the possibility that Tony's dad didn't do nothing and Ivan's dad is just blaming him for his or a third person's acts.

And Tony's dad (Lets just call him "Howard" :hehe:) made Cap's shield, among other things.

Well, for one, he made Stark possible. ;)

I think Howard Stark is important right now because with his knowledge of everything SSS, there could be a new insight to a cure for Bruce Banner, the location of Captain America, closer for Stark hell, maybe The Avengers was even Starks idea and SHIELD has been around long enough...

I know where you're coming from with all this being cramped into one movie and, I agree with you. But I trust Favreau and Marvel enough.

Look at The Dark Knight's plot, by example. It is huge and full of details, but the movie covered everything up (And even went a little overlong :hehe:). We don't even know the runtime yet. Let's chill.

By the way, all of this discussion just goes to show how utterly boring this viral campaign is. This is a major fail for the film.

Even the people following it are busying themselves with other topics, waiting for things to get interesting. Announcing that it's a game, even posting links to the next clue on Twitter, is not how to run a viral...and if thats how you run it...it better be good. This is not good. Its dull. Not all films can have a brilliant viral like The Dark Knight, but many films have cool viral campaigns. This is just boring, boring, boring.

is that a legit site?
