Wish Frankie Boyle would follow your style :funny:

My dear friend, you know my thoughts on Twitter, but I take our DCEU love and place it with you to do your best work and carry the torch good squire.

Oh I'm not saying join, infact I'd highly recommend against it. But Twitter has gotten its claws into me haha

I was just saying the love for the DCEU isn't really a minority everywhere, like it is here.

Oh I know mate, I just wouldn't go anywhere near it but I'm glad we are 'greater spotted' on there.

mostly trolling :argh: :o

I think BVS could’ve been 1000x better but it’s still my favorite DCEU film and I’ve rewatched it so many times. It’s one of my favorite CBMs even though it didn’t reach its full potential.

Nice thread

1. Wonder Woman - It was so hard to pick between this and Aquaman for number 1. The reason I have to go with Wonder Woman is because I loved just about everything in it. From the beginning telling us of Dianna as young child to her taking down German's in WW1. The film in its entirety is just great fun. A lot of people seemed to hate the third act I thoroughly enjoyed it I didn't see the twist coming at all. I like that we even see her contemplate giving in to her darkness but it being the acts of other brave men and woman that show her that they are worth fighting for.

2. Aquaman - A visual extravaganza like nothing you have ever seen before. One element of this films that I loved a lot were the exploring on land. It gave a sort of Indiana Jones/Uncharted feel when exploring for the trident then as soon as it went back underwater we were back in to super hero movie mode. Jason Momoa also adjusts his character from Justice League when he was maybe just a little to Aquabro to completely evolving in his own film becoming the king that his people require. I also loved how he gets the trident they break a lot of tropes about the rightful king and rightful heir. Even though he is both it his humbleness & honesty that is what gets him it.

3. Batman vs. Superman - The fight between them both is something I have been waiting to see in live action for over 20 years the whole movie could have been that scene and I would have been happy. I have to address the Martha scene as it seems to be one of the most devise moments of the movie, I personally loved it. It did great things for both their characters moving forward I thought. Batman could never see Superman as anything more than just an alien invader but seeing him give what Superman could only assume would be his final breath to beg Batman to save his mother breaks that view of Superman that Batman had. One of the few things that really annoyed me about the film was they made Metropolis just as dark as Gotham, that should have been one of the biggest contrasts of the movie but they didn't really do that. And I wasn't the biggest fan of Eisenberg as Luthor.

4. Justice League - Two directors both putting their own flare on a film is always going to leave it feeling a little disjointed in places. For all the hate it got I really enjoyed this movie. I think it did a great job in setting up the teams different personalities. Flash came off as the loveable and very inexperienced hero. Aquaman came off as the gruff loner who didn't really want to be there. Wonder Woman as the leader the team needed. I even loved how they portrayed Batman always hurt and battle-scarred because he's just a man, that this has taken its toll on him so much already. Never really got much from Cyborg. Yes it has flaws Steppenwolf feels about as generic a bad guy as you can get and Cavill's CGI removed moustache is hard not to notice.

5. Man of Steel - Now some of you are probably baffled why this is so low on my list. The truth is I have never been a fan of Superman I was too young to really enjoy the Christopher Reeves films and it was just a character I never really got attached to as a kid or as I grew up. But this film was the most I have ever enjoyed a solo film about Superman. Mainly because I liked that one of if not the biggest battle is Clark dealing with if he should use his power or not and the costs of doing so.

6. Suicide Squad
- So much potential and honestly the first two acts are actually a pretty good ride I just found it falls apart in the third act a bit. Plus I have never been good at spotting where scenes have been cut but there a few instances of that in this movie where it just feels like something's missing (probably Joker stuff). Plus the only two of the squad that really got developed were Smith & Robbie. Even though its last on my list im still really excited for the sequel as I think if they take the lessons from the first they can make a real hit.

LOL yeah, there is a huge disparity in quality between the top three and the bottom three.

1. Wonder Woman
2. Aquaman

These two are hard to choose between. They are both extremely good. I give Wonder Woman the edge because of the trench warfare scene.

3. Justice League

Sue me. I find it fun.

4. Man of Steel

Very good, but the ending really hurts it.

5. Batman vs Superman

Batman kills and Superman mopes. Not an awful movie, but definitely a missed opportunity and a poor depiction of the characters

6. Suicide Squad

Terrible villain and too stylistic for its own good. It’s also not as bad as people like to make it out to be. Most of the cast is quite good. But I haven’t seen it since the theatre and have no desire to. That says something about it’s quality.

nice!, its fresh to see someone else who loved every DCEU film like me :D instead of all the "all garbage" comments

WW's the only genuinely good one of the bunch. I doubt I'd ever watch any of the others again, they're all too flawed or cringe-inducing in their own ways. As much as I dislike BvS and Snyder's ridiculous attempts at "gravitas" and "drama," at least it has a specific narrative it's trying to convey. Aquaman's a mess, without a single scene that's not overloaded with camp. They only reason I rank it about JL is because that film was so utterly ruined in post I can't honestly call it a movie anymore, it's a soulless corporate product. I cannot understand how people are fine with AM yet scoff at Spider-Man 3 (a film I actually like). To each their own, I guess.

Eh, I think Aquaman is better than Spider-Man 3 because even though it's just as campy, at least the visuals are stunning and you didn't have multiple scenes of EVERY SINGLE MAIN CHARACTER crying. I also think the problem with Spider-Man 3 is that the first two movies raised the bar pretty high and then to close the series with a film that is "okay" at best just makes it seem all that much worse. Neither of the main villains are interesting (Sandman is a flat-out bore and Topher Venom is just irritating as hell); Harry's final transformation into a bad guy is ultimately disappointing after showing so much promise in Spider-Man 2 and the only thing more disappointing is his about face and "redemption" at the end; and Peter and Mary Jane's relationship and chemistry, never one of the franchise's strong suits, reaches all-time groan level, especially in the corny final scene.

I think the whole overly critical media response to these movies has left people with a bit of skewed view on how the public sees them. I stuck on Suicide Squad the other week and diablo's scene in the bar describing how he accidently killed his family nearly gets me every time, yes there's some flaws but I bet so many fans were just in a state of wonder getting to see so many of the characters they have loved throughout the years getting brought to life.
