So 2 & 3 in my head are basically 1 film. Same for 7 & 8. I'm surprised at how low I rated both Spider-man films but honestly FFH was not great. I liked the concept, but not the setting or blip explanation. EDITH was a bit much. HC was just ok. They feel like they're holding back on Marvel connections. I think 10 in general is underrated. 20 is becoming more important to the narrative but it's still not as enjoyable to me as several of the others.

Widow's film was ok. A little shoehorned in though.

Black Widow smack dab in the middle. Not the best, certainly not the worst. But a solid entry nonetheless. There are worse places to be than "Average MCU"

If I answered this question 25 times, you'd probably get 25 different answers. I did see BW yesterday and thought it was a good, solid addition to the MCU. I'd probably rank it somewhere in the upper half of MCU movies. I wasn't really very excited by it and it seemed rather anti-climactic, but I liked it.

Imagine if we got an Iron Man 4 movie set before Endgame in phase 4. I'd have the same feeling.

I rank the films based on two criteria:
a) the film itself;
b) its contribution to the MCU.

From worst to best:

24. Black Widow: terrible movie that adds nothing to the MCU and ruins the send off for a loved character.
23. Iron Man 3: not a terrible movie but adds nothing to the MCU except confusion. Extremis?
22. Thor 2: turned out to be a key movie which introduced an infinity stone/liquid which makes the poor quality of the film even more unforgivable.
21. Iron Man 2: poor movie and doesn’t really add anything.
20. The Incredible Hulk: I don’t mind the change of actor but there’s so many other loose ends that have never been dealt with.
19. Captain Marvel: she’s too powerful which always made it difficult but also the film is quite silly.
18. Ant Man & The Wasp: not a bad movie but there’s better. Crucially it did play a key role in End Game so set it up nicely.
17. Age of Ultron: the worst of the team ups.
16. Thor: a solid intro movie for the character.
15. Spider-Man Far From Home: could be lower down but it was amusing and, unlike with Iron Man 3 that wasted the chance to build on the narrative, there was already a pretty solid narrative behind spider man who has actual super powers.
14. Dr Strange: solid intro movie.
13. Guardians of the Galaxy 2: love these films but it was weaker than the first.
12. Ant Man: a heist/comedy/superhero movie. What’s not to like.
11. Captain America: solid intro movie.
10. Iron Man: has to make the top 10. It kicked the whole thing off and introduced the main character, all whilst being one of the few origin stories in the series.
9. Spider-Man Homecoming: great coming of age/superhero movie.
8. Winter Soldier: great spy/superhero movie.
7. Black Panther: great political drama/superhero movie.
6. Guardians of the Galaxy: hilarious.
5. Thor Rangarok: hilarious-er.
4. End Game: awesome especially the final battle.
3. Avengers: the thing that made it all click together and it worked.
2. Civil War: just a very well done movie that could’ve easily been a flop.
1. Infinity War: where to begin? Barely a scene or line out of place. Perfection.
