Comics Post which issue got you started/back in X-Men comics.

My very first issue i read was issue X-men #28 back in mid 90's along with other X-men issues because they were in a variety pack when i bought them.
That's what got me hooked.

GAH they're not working...I'll fix them later.

The first X-issue I got:

I bought or recieved random issues thereafter, but it wasn't until THIS issue that I was hooked, and began to collect every issue, including backissues and other X-titles:

The issue that caused me to stop reading:

After "The Hunt For Xavier," "Apocalypse: The Twelve," and all the stuff that happened inbetween, I was about ready to stop reading. I gave the "new direction" 6-month-gap s*** a shot, which was a mistake because that was the worst of them all! So I gave up after this issue, and that's a shame because shortly after, it started to get good again (I liked Jug as a good guy, Stacey X, Northstar, and all that other crap).

But the issue that brought me back:

And then, of course, I had to get every single Morrison issue. So really, I didn't miss a lot from when I stopped to when I started again, because I picked up all the backissues.

It wasn't an issue that got me into X-men, it was the TV show on Fox (how true to the comics is that?). I must admit X-Treme X-men was one of the few comics I was reading when I wasn't big weekly comic book guy, although I now laugh at Chris Claremont from behind my monitor. Grant Morrisson is what made me fall in love with Xmen. I mean, E for Extinction was awesome. He's the one who made me love Emma, and he even made me respect Cyclops. His psychic rescue silent issue was one of the best X issues I have.

I got started back in Uncanny #188 - it is still such a great issue. It has Rachel and some of the ramifications of the Days of Future Past storyline....awesome. Morrison's run threw me off, I just didn't like the whole Scott/Jean/Emma triangle, I still wish Scott never would have cheated on Jean. Astonishing X-Men has got me back for good though, the story and the art of issue #1 was just classic. The way Scott and Logan interacted was great and the line-up is wonderful (though I wish Nightcrawler could have been in this lineup).
