Power Rangers 4.0 - Part 1

I wonder if after Once A Ranger. Adam called up his former teammates & said "Hey guys our Power Coins are active again". Since Adam still had his Morpher. Then surely the others do as well

But were ALL the Power Coins energized or just Adam's though? And is Adam's coin still active after the events of 'Once a Ranger' or did it lose its power again?

Personally, I think the Sentinel Knight just temporarily re-energized only Adam's coin.

I finally got to see Saturday's episode, and it was great! I can't wait to see who else shows up this season!

I love the Legendary Mode shifts, they're great. Although it's curious that Noah didn't get to change into 3 or 4 Rangers this episode.....

The only thing bringing down this season is the villain. What was his name again? Vrak's brother? He's terrible!

Hate the "first season" of Megaforce all you want, but the main three villains were good. This guy? Not so much. And there's no chance for a mutiny because he's royalty. Can we get Vrak back please?

At the end of Once A Ranger Adam mentioned that if they ever needed help again just give him a call. So surely at least Adams Power Coin is still active

Sentinel Knight restored those powers, and presumably other lost PR powers, in Once A Ranger.

And of course, there are the ranger keys which hold backups of all the powers.

I know Gosei probably found a way to get a hold of some version of the powers and restored them into the Ranger keys.

As for Sentinel Knight, he only restored Adam's, Tori's, Kira's, and Xander's while also bringing Bridge from the future that's where he used his powers.

I thought I might share this with PR fans it seems Austin ST. John will be at the Florida Supercon! July 3-6 Miami Beach Convention Center! Back to action!

I think this season would have been better w/ two teams of rangers. The megaforce team, and then the alien pirates coming down amidst all the chaos and destruction and finding/stealing the legendary powers. Which would explain the different fighting styles, the gokaiger rangers fight w/ more confidence dare i say cockiness, and are more aggressive. Also, the use of pre-zyu footage is annoying. Makes no sense. Oh and the villains are trash,no surprise there. They should have canned the generic japanese villain and used a original one. Would've had a bigger effect on this whole world domination thing.

I got to be honest, I thought some of the ideas they had are pretty good it's just the execution that sucked

the Megaforce Rangers- I thought for this could work and would have brought old fans back and get new fans interested as well. It pretty much worked with Dino Thunder and to a lesser extent Ninja Storm(someone point is even though it wasn't exactly MMPR it was a tribute to it. The Megaforce Rangers being teenagers/back to basic approach for Megaforce and Super Megaforce(with them also learning more about previous Rangers/PR History and what it means to be a Power Ranger in the process) and have personality traits similar to the original with elements of the Gokaigers and Goseigers personality. While yes one complaint I read was how the Megaforce personality doesn't fit in the Gokaiger footage but I think it works for the most part and the ADR more or less(Jake having fun with the power. I'm glad they didn't go the Gokaiger routes of making them anti heroes/pirates and making it a hybrid season in this case. Yes I like how the Rangers are in a way homages/tributes to the original MMPR Teens(I think this is something Dino Thunder better because they fleshed out their characters more and gave them unique quirks like Connor a slightly cocky soccer player and hydrophobic, for example) but the Megaforce teens mostly feel one note compared to some of the other Rangers of Old Saban and Disney era and slightly better than the Samurai Ranger. They feel flat and boring even when compared to the season 1 MMPR, which I felt was one of the weakest Zordon era season along with the first half of Turbo(Jake and to a lesser extent Noah are the most interesting of the five Rangers). They felt like hollow soulless caricatures of season 1 Jason, Trini, Zack, Billy, and Kimberly for the most part. Maybe give them more character elements/personality traits from the other PR teens personality as well as some unique traits besides the few Saban Brand barely gave them(Jake's obsession over Gia and love of soccer, Emma love/obsession over Nature and photography, Noah not having a sense of humor like the other Rangers, etc). They should better developed the character in the first half of Megaforce before giving them the Gokaigers/Super Mega mode powers or even before they meet Roboknight so it would be interesting to see them go through these journeys. Maybe also have Most of the Megaforce episode I think can be called just Filler waiting for Super Megaforce which kind of makes me feel little to nothing for them in Super Megaforce despite having better writing and episodes, etc so when they go on the journey in Super Megaforce/part 2 you could feel a better connection with them(in fact due Megaforce like a 2 part episode to better introduce and develop the characters like other seasons like Day of the Dino, Beginnings, etc did).

the villains - I thought they should do something like MMPR/MMAR-Zeo/the Zeo Serial shorts(only in canon) or Turbo to In Space did for something either in between Samurai and Megaforce or Megaforce and Super Megaforce/Megaforce part 2 where we get to see how powerful and dangerous the Warstar/Insectoids Armada is(for a kid show/Power Rangers threat) and how they are a different and more powerful threat than say Dark Specter's United Alliance of Evil from the Zordon era among others(plus an introduction/connection for new viewers of sorts between the different PR villains like the downfall of the UAoE created a power gap in the universe with the Warstar Armada slowly been filling up and taking control of before they learn of the potential source of the universal Morphin Grid they can harness and use for their own nefarious purposes so the Armada decided to study and weaken the Earthlings while they take over). I just wished they fleshed out Vrak, General Creepox, more as villains like they did with Trakeena, Master Org,Ransik etc(I like the first episode Vekar was in as well as his appearance in Samurai Surprise and a Lion's alliance but that's it).

I also agree with what Koji said on Your ideal 20th Anniversary Season thread on Ranger Crew and I like his ideas from the Armada villains: I'd call the Loogies something else, like Stingers or Wasps or even X-Borgs mode 1. Relate them as an insectoid species, like make reference to conquering their Queen and as such he controls them now, or something) and has absorbed the remains of Trakeena/Scorpius's army (because it's an anniversary, so references). Vrak went with them to prove his worth to his father, considering Vekar has no military training at all or combat experience. This kind of explains what Megaforce villain some fans prefer: http://www.rangercrew.com/forum/showthread.php?28952-Vrak-vs-Vekar

explanation to the Gokaiger/Super Mega mode and Legendary Rangers powers- I thought this idea especially worked making the Legendary morph too powerful so they Rangers could only last a few minutes. But I thought this explanation could work for the powers from Ranger Boards:
I probably would have made the Gokaiger powers created by the villains that end up in the rangers' hands somehow. Like Prince Vekar developed ranger powers because he heard "If the Power Rangers always win, then logically if we make our own rangers we should win with our own rangers" and Gosei stole them and fine tuned them to work with the past ranger powers and the Megaforce powers. (And he only just finished, explaining why he didn't do it sooner). The Goseiger powers would be made unusable after End Game, making a big dramatic comeback for the finale.

Having a villain origin would explain why they have pirate-like appearances. (Me and two others did something similar in a new team fanfic Gokaiger adaptation.)

and to add to it I would add that the Gokaiger/Super Mega mode was unfinished when Gosei stole it and because the Megaforce powers were so damaged from the battle with Vrax, making it a power up more/middle man of sorts is the only way for the Gokaiger powers and weapons to work and activate the Legendary Ranger mode(maybe even powered from something of the previous seasons like the Zeo Crystals or make it "cobbled" together from Eltar technology/magic with different other alien Rangers technology to make it work properly) or the Megaforce is almost destroyed and not in use until the Legendary War

tribute season- I thought this is their weakest aspect of what Megaforce/Super Megaforce. Instead of showing their costume and yelling out the name of the costumes they are wearing at the moments and their morph(from time to time) do more like playing pieces and bits/lyrics from the respective Rangers theme songs like hearing the Ninja Storm theme songs like how some of the you tube video did where they are in action. Showing their costume isn't enough. Maybe making the Ranger outfits and saying their perspective morphs is decent but you can at least try a little harder when respecting the respective Power Rangers and the Ranger History as well(the most they did with that was in Samurai's Surprise but that had it's flaws). Like have the Rangers main city/home base is Stone Canyon or Angel Grove.

I wish did they did a better job when it came to reaching out for the Other Rangers come back and did something for their tribute episode but that's a minor qualm. Heck why didn't they do something like MMPR/MMAR-Zeo or Turbo to In Space for something either in between Samurai and Megaforce or Megaforce and Super Megaforce/Megaforce part 2 (the arc they had in between The Human Condition to Earth fights back was alright but they could have done more in term of set up) for the viewers to learn more who are the previous Rangers from MMPR - Samurai or even commercials showcasing different Rangers and hinting at their history for people who never saw their respective shows and what they have been doing since they "Retired"(as well as learning this in the main Super Megaforce season) but the only difference between this and say the Zeo Serial shorts, these Shorts will be in Canon. Have them actually visit the places the Rangers live to show how big and powerful the Armada is instead of just staying in one city. Like showing in Earth Fight Back/The SPD tribute have Angel Grove and Stone Canyon(and maybe Reefside as well) becoming one city: Newtech City/SPD'S home showing how the future is becoming more hopeful against the alien armada. or have Gosei created the Gosei Great Megazord out of pieces and bits of previous Megazord in order to properly combat the Armada.

I wish they would have bought back Kira Ford, the Yellow Dino Thunder Ranger, Played by the beautiful Emma Lahana as one of the Legendary Rangers on PRSM. She's my favorite female Ranger ever.

She may be back in Dino Charge.

BTW, does any know where I can find a dub of Kyoryuger vs. Go-Busters?

Personally, I think the Sentinel Knight just temporarily re-energized only Adam's coin.

Even if the black mastodon power coin is no longer active, Adam could still use the green zeonizer.

BTW has anyone figured out how Jason got his red tyrannosaurus powers back for "Forever Red"? Also I wonder if he still has them?

Well there is this theory that when
Zordon
died in CTD the gold wave from his tube restored the power coins which makes sense.

If this was the case, why did Adam need to get his MMPR powers restored in "Once a Ranger"? Speaking of "Once a Ranger" I'd love to see Sally Martin return as Tori Hanson, the Blue Wind Ranger from PRNS at some point.

He may not have needed his powers restored.

I think Universeman may have a point about the "Z" wave restoring the MMPR powers.

Namely because we see Jason in 'Forever Red' using the MMPR red powers.

And by your logic, he wouldn't have been able too if those powers were still lost, and/or the coins were still damaged beyond safe use (like Adam's coin was in PRIS).

Watched an episode today, plenty cheesy with the rangers should never let go of their weapons and we want to learn how to use no weapons talk. Other than that it was decent.

I thought that guy was a former ranger, even though I only watched a couple episodes of Jungle Fury, I recognized the logo so that was neat. Though this is where if Saban wasn't so cheap, he could've joined in the fight.

Yeah, I'm with you Slayer, Jungle Fury is my favorite of the non-Saban PR series. So it was really sad for me that this episode was only decent.

Don't get me wrong, I liked how he was a master in martial arts still, and the whole, "He's one with the Tiger" was awesome. But everything else felt off. And I REALLY wanted him to join the fight.

Oh well, hopefully the others won't suffer. Oh, and Troy? ANNOYING! "We just won't let go." Missing the point!!!!!

Eh, it wouldn't really contribute much if he did join the fight as the Ranger powers including Jungle Fury's are now with the Super Megaforce Rangers. Plus this was their fight not Casey's, he'll show up when the Legend War happens. I mean Jayden didn't join the fight either.

Anyways, my thoughts on the episode: I was reasonably satisfied. It was great seeing Casey back and it was great seeing Emma and Jake try to use their hands as opposed to "not letting go". It was interesting how they separated the rangers and how like in Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder and of course, Jungle Fury they had the Red, Yellow and Blue Rangers take on the monster for a while before extra back up came.

What I didn't like was why isn't Troy the one getting more involved with the Legendary Ranger stuff more these days? I mean he's the one who had the visions no? He should have sensed the Red Lion or was the one getting the Fire Disc from Jayden and talking to him instead of Jake or be the one getting advice from Casey.

Anyways, can't wait to see the Silver Ranger next week!

This. The whole damn thing didn't make any sense. First he's nagging about not letting your weapons go and being an idiot about it instead of just listening to what Noah found, but then when the time comes to battle the monster again, they hold on to their weapons with succes, just to... put them away anyway? What was the point of that? If he was so hell-bent on not letting go of his weapon, then why not just shoot the damn monster with everything you've got and go enjoy a slushie at Ernie's for god's sake.

The monster was weird as well. He takes their weapons so they would fight him hand-to-hand, but then he's constantly using those weird long range arms of his? Even shooting a laser out of them? Okay, nice one.

Aside from the whole 'not letting your weapon go'-deal, I actually enjoyed it. It was nice seeing Casey and having more screentime for Emma and Jake. I also loved the scene with the both of them walking through the park and Jake finally asking Emma how Gia feels about him. :yay:

Exactly on both counts. Troy was the weak link and overexposed in the first "season" and now they're not using him right in SMF. What's the deal?

Also, what happened to his Robo Knight storyline? Did they straight up drop that? We know he's in the Legend War, but they should let us know he's still alive or something.

This season is still great, but that whole storyline in the Casey episode really brought it down.

I think that Robo-Knight is actually looking for the Legendary Rangers like Tommy etc to help the Rangers defeat the Armada?

I miss Robo-Knight, he was the best part of Power Rangers Megaforce.

Which version of the Putty Patrollers did you like better, Rita's or Zedd's?
