Predators 2

People may hate AvP:R but atleast the Predator himself was perfect in it.

Yes, he was bloody awesome.

Predator versus Mr.Bean would be mint.

Now there's someone who can land on the Predator Homeworld, and not only survive, but destroy the whole damn planet in the process . . . All completely by accident of course.

I loved Predators but I never expected them to make a sequel to it.

I love the first 1987 movie with Arnold. It’s lightning in a bottle.

I’d like to see a Predator movie but done differently. The dynamic switched up, like the video game Concrete Jungle where the Predator is the main character. Following his journey of redemption.

The first Predator movie with Arnold is classic. I didn't care too much for Predators.

Predators was quite good I thought, it had some good ideas but you could tell the budget held it back sometimes. I would love to see a sequel to see if they could follow up on what Roland said "...when one of us kills one of them, thats when they get REAL interested..." The humans managed to kill all 3 in Predators so it would have been interesting to see how they responded to that.

I actually liked Predators too I thought it was awesome and Brody was pretty badass

that would suck if the announcement has to do with the 1st film getting a 3D re-release :down

Predators was a poor imitation of the original. I'm not exactly excited at the prospect of a sequel.

An easy skip for me. If the movie has good WOM I'll 'maybe' check it on Blu ray. I thought Predators was absolute RUBBISH.
If you are going to put an 'S' on the end (like Cameron did with Alien'S') then earn the 'S'. Predator 2 brought more to the table.

Yeah, Predators was TOO in love with the original that it came off as a pale imitation.

I thought Predators had it's moments but ultimately didn't come together.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that it didn't come together. I found it enjoyable enough. Not nearly as good as Predator 1 & 2, but serviceable for what it was.

As I said before, with the nature of the Predators, a prequel set in Earth's distant past is probably the way to go.

I liked so much of what was set up in PREDATORS. The expansion of our knowledge of the aliens, showing them using their own hunting animals and getting a look at the Predator society/rituals. And I liked the cast they put together. Even Grace and Brody. But it does kind of not gel together quite right. Perhaps it's time to put the Predator out to pasture? It's funny, but when you think about it, The Predator, as a movie monster, has very much kept his mystique or for lack of a better term, "Wolverinishness". What do we really know (in any cannon sense) about this alien that we didn't know in 1987? Is this the reason follow up films have not been as successful? Or has it indeed kept the "mystique" of the creature?

I wasn't fond of the Predator planet looking almost identical to a typical earthly jungle either.

First off, it's just a re-tread of the setting of the first film, with how ancient and adaptive this character is to any setting, there's no reason for redunancy.

It was also a chance to see a unique, visually stunning/interesting atmosphere, and instead looks like any typical movie shot in a jungle. The glimpse of the Predator planet on AvP:R was better than what's in Predators.

That wasn't the Predator planet. It was a planetoid, with Earth like conditions kept by the Predators specifically for the purpose of hunting human badasses.

Predators had the decency to keep it's short comings as a film to itself and not take a massive dump over any prior film. For that I'll always respect it and enjoy it.

Thanks for pointing this out to me. You sir are a child of the universe. No less than the trees. NAMASTE Yeah, there was no attempt at some lame "everything you know is wrong" type thing.

Regardless, the basic point is that the 'earth like conditions' made it feel redundant, and it would've been better off in a more unique, otherwordly environment.

it looked like on Earth because of the low budget. an alien jungle is very expensive.

Kind of like Superman Returns.

j/k

Predators isn't too bad.

I'd rank it in the middle of Predator films:

1) Predator (9.5)
2) Predator 2 (8)
3) Predators (6.3)

4) AvP (4.8)
5) AvP: Requiem (4.1)

Predators might be better than both AvP Movies, but when it comes to guilty fun factor, I'd place both of them above Predators. Simply because the Predators don't come across like total chumps. Seriously, those were uber Predators. Who even made regular Predators their b**ches. Yet they didn't come across as uber hunters.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I'd rank them too, though I might be a little less generous with AVP: Requiem.
