Hater of the Smith? I doubt a Will Smith film will flop, to be honest.

I never understooding a person to wish a movie flopping? Is it cause therew bias to another movie coming out the same time or around? coughs*TDK8coughs.

Probably because they think the movie looks bad and believe it to be undeserving of success. Like I want Hancock to fail, bigtime. But it has a 50/50 chance of doing well. The big ones are Iron Man, of course, Indy and Bats. Sadly, maybe HanCOCK.

Well whoever said Speed Racer was partially right. sure it was second place but only with 20 million of a budget of what 150 mil or so?

Hancock will edge Wall-E that second weekend. Or come darn close. Wanted looks to be in major trouble with such a crappy release date. These comedies coming in June sandwiched in between the heavy hitter films probably won't do as well either. If people need one comedy movie for their summer viewings they are probably going to go with Zohan. Get Smart and Love Guru will hurt each other. Hulk should still be number one easily. Happening may have legs depending on the reception but Fox really screwed Shamylan over with that craptacular release date. So with June flops in order I'll go... Get Smart, Love Guru, and Wanted. Happening will probably outgross those three films if its any good. For those second tier summer blockbusters I'll go Wall-E, Hancock, Narnia, Hulk, Mummy, and Star Wars: CW.

X Files 2 is going to be a flop on steroids as is Meet Dave, Tropic Thunder, The Love Guru and Street Fighter among others. Boy you picked some real stinkers for the poll :woot:

Star Trek XI may be ok I have to see more than just a teaser trailer.

SpeedRacer was the first flop, next up The Incredible Hulk. And Hancock won't flop it will open too big for that to happen but it could have bad legs after the huge opening and disappoint.

Dragonball...looks pretty stupid but I might be proven wrong.

I'm actually shocked Speed Racer flopped.. so badly. Has a summer blockbuster ever made so little before?

Speed Racer was the first flop! Ouch!
And Iron man makes 50 million 2nd weekend!
I knew it wouldn't do good at the box office but I thought it'd at least have good reviews...ufortunately, not the case.
I think I might wait for it on DVD, (yes, I'm one of those people that trust in the critics more so than fanboys)

gave speed racer a good review on there show last night.

its funny how last week the summer movie season started with a bang then the following it sputters out with a new release.

How much do you think Iron Man will make next week 20-25 million maybe? More if Narnia doesn't do as well.

Street Fighter, The Love Guru, Meet Dave and Dragonball(I actually hope this does well).

I saw Speed Racer with an open mind..I just couldn't get connected with it, horrible movie IMO.

The Incredible Hulk, :(. I just don't see that movie doing at all well. But, then again, it could turn out to be shockingly good. Guess we won't know for another month and 2 days.

It won't. People have actually shrugged and sighed when the trailer is shown at my local theater. That's really bad.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if it ends up going straight to dvd or in seriously limited release, like Dead or Alive did.

:cmad:

Anyway, I picked Speed Racer and it looks like I was right. Although more than one of these films (yes...even Dragonball *gasp*) could flop.

I think the Incredible Hulk will do a lot better than the previous film. It won't break any records obviously, but if it's a really, really good movie and has good word of mouth I wouldn't be surprised to see it do well.

But as I said before and I'll say it again, Iron Man, Indiana Jones, and The Dark Knight will be the big money makers of this year.

That seems to be the smart bet. The only wild card I can see at all is Hancock. I hope it tanks, though. I can't stand Will Smith in these kind of movies were he's playing the same cocky "cool guy" he did in all those movies in the past. I know he's capable of better too, like The Pursuit of Happyness, I Am Legend and Ali, but oh well...
