Slumdog is too hot to lose. It has best picture wrapped up.

Milk will get best original screenplay...though how a movie about someone's life, which is being adapted into film can be original is beyond me. Still...they need to throw Van Sant and Penn a bone. I've never seen a movie cool off quicker than Milk. But they'll have to give it something. Still...WALL*E deserves it.

As for best adapted....with Slumdog most likely taking best director and best picture...I suspect the Academy will show their boy Ron Howard some love, and give it to Frost/Nixon.

Best Picture: "Slumdog Millionaire"

Best Make-Up: Mike Elizalde and Thom Floutz - "Hellboy II: The Golden Army"

Best Original Score: James Newton Howard - "Defiance"

Best Original Song: Peter Gabriel and Thomas Newman - "Down to Earth" from "Wall-E"

Best Visual Effects: John Nelson, Ben Snow, Dan Sudick and Shane Mahan - "Iron Man”

Best Adapted Screenplay: David Hare - "The Reader"

Best Original Screenplay: Martin McDonagh - "In Bruges"
