The Dark Knight Predictions on how TDK will end

I predict it will end with a scene between Batman and Joker at Arkham. Joker greets him with a smile, they have an exchange. But then Batman will say something to him, maybe point something out, that he can't laugh off, something that will infuriate him to the core. Then Batman will say "Why so serious?" and leave him to his freakout inside the cell. The end. Or something like that. Basically it will play out similar to the final scene between Xavier and Magneto in X1.

I think maybe something like this.. (just a fun guess)

Gordon: Well it seems that we have locked up Joker for now
Batman: For know.

(Walkie talkie voice comes from gordons walkie talkie)
Hey we've got a situation..
It seems as though another freak is in Gotham
Question marks are popping up all over the city.

Could someone explain to me what the barge situation is? I dont care if I'm spoiled.

Gotham is forced to evacuate. There are two barges, one filled with the Gotham elite, and one with prisoners. Joker rigs the barges so that both have explosives on them, and there are switchs on the ships to set off the explosives. THe Joker sets up an ultimatum that by a certain time, they have to decide to destroy their own ship, or he will destroy both of them. A huge, tattooed prisoner, played by Tiny Lister, takes initiative and sets of the switch on the prisoner ship, destroying the ship and killing the prisoners to save the lives of the "good" people. It is supposed to be a very tense scene.

With the words, "In Honor of Heath Ledger"

But in all seriousness, can someone PM me about how the ending was supposedley spoiled.

I havent seen a thread on this topic, so I just wanted to bring it up.

How do you guys think The Dark Knight will end? Simple as that. My prediction is: Joker will scar two-face (dont know the reason), then two-face kills joker out of revenge. The only reason why I want joker to die is because I dont want another actor replacing him in the third movie. I know, I know, everyone is gonna say, "But Joker is too big of a character to kill off!" :whatever: But come on people, I mean do you really want some other actor stepping in heath's clown shoes? I just feel that joker is too big of a character to be replaced by someone else

I'd be fine with a vague sort of ending, so you never know for sure if he dies or not...but I think it would be a huge mistake for the franchise to outright kill him off. The character is just too valuable to not milk for at least a sequel, even if only to complete a story arc (trilogy, anyone?).

And if they chose another actor to play the Joker, the only actor I really see being a close enough match for what Heath created (judging by the footage I've seen thus far) is Daniel Day-Lewis. Same build, comparable in terms of talent...hell, I even think DDL would look more like a traditional, comic-book Joker than Heath did, for what its worth.

Now that's a good idea.

Now that would be awesome. I can imagine the Joker standing up in rage and yelling at Batman. Batman just smiles and says it coldly, then he laughs dryly and walks off. Oh, my god that is such a great ****ing idea. Nice one, man

I honestly don't know where he/she got that from. I am pretty up to date on everything, and I haven't heard of any confirmed ending of the movie. Its still pretty much up in the air.

I want movie to end with Two-Face, saying the words: "MY CITY". After that, screen goes black, and you can hear two shots, fired at Sal Maroni. ( Falcone's no more threat, he's crasy, so Sal Maroni instead.)

Whatever it is, it can't have a clear cut positive ending. Nothing can be resolved with this one -- it needs to end in the vain of The Empire Strikes Back, DARK.

Initially (before the bar scene detailing and the shot of Dent post-scarring in the 3rd trailer) I actually figured it would end with a half-bandaged Dent in the hospital (overhead camera, slowly zooming into his face, heart monitor sounding in the background with slowly rising music to fill the empty space) ala The Matrix Reloaded...maybe sans the super abrupt ending.

Who knows? The bar scene would be a nice ending or perhaps Bruce in anguish ne' the shot of him in the penthouse with the mask in his hands, where it is apparent that he's either pondering whether he did the right thing in taking an oath to protect Gotham (whether it be something that happens to a large group of people, Rachel or simply in general -- inner struggle). The third movie would be set up perfectly, with the brothers Nolan playing up the duality of Dent as Face and Bruce as Bats...

It will be interesting none the less...

I like the idea for an X-men 1 style ending with Bats and Joker instead of Xavier and Magneto.

This reminds me of something the Joker would say:

There was once a bus conductor, and he had really bad anger management problems, One day a woman on the bus refused to pay the fare. Well, the bus conductor got so angry he killed her. He was tried and sentenced to death by the electric chair.
The day for his execution came, and they took him out of his cell and brought him to the chair. The guard said, "Have you any last requests?"
The man replied, "Yes, I'd like an unripe green banana, please."
So they got him an unripe green banana, and he peeled it, ate it, and threw the skin away, and they strapped him to the chair.
"Are you ready?" they asked.
"Yes," he said.
And they hit the switch. And nothing happened. So he was taken back to his cell.
The guards rewired the chair and tested it a few times, and it worked perfectly. They brought the man back and said, "Have you any last requests?"
Well, the guards bought a brand new electric chair. This one was amazing: leather seats, gold-plated armrests studded with rubies, the works. It was an incredible sight.
They brought the man back and asked, "Have you any last requests?"
Now, in this particular state, there was a law that if someone survived the electric chair three times, he must be set free. So the man was released, and as soon as he stepped out of the prison, the press was all over him. He walked through the crowd and the flashing cameras until he saw a small man who asked, "Have you discovered some miraculous phenomenon of unripe green bananas?"
"No," he replied, "I've just always been a bad conductor."

It won't happen that way.

I love the ending idea, except Selina Kyle... Nolan himself said that in the future that there are two villains he wouldn't use for 3... Penguin is not his style and Catwoman's claws are still dulled thanks to the Halle Berry film...

therefore Penguin and Catwoman will not be in the 3rd film... maybe by the time the 4th one is made Catwoman will make an appearance, but not this early... I'm leaning towards Vicky Vale...

But the idea of everything starting from scratch is a good idea... Batman worked so hard in BB and TDK to stop crime and because of the Joker it went right back to where it was before BB... and now Batman has to earn the GPD's trust again (or at least Gordon's)... so Batman 3 is still kinda like Batman Begins... :P

I gota call BS. Where did Nolan say that about Catwoman?

my thought:
gordon smashes batSignal, for some reason they dont trust bats anymore. gordon is down in the dump cuz of bats and dent becoming 2face.
then we have a dramatic shot of batman and credits. post credits we see the two face scene (big reveal) of dent at the bar... "half"... and turns and reveals our first look at the big bad himself.

I'd like to see it end in a cliffhanger of some sort with it hinting at the Riddler or possibly Bane. One poster brought up an interesting concept with the Riddler and he suggested that perhaps they can do the Riddler like Jigsaw from SAW.

In other words he constructs these gruesome death traps while forcing people to solve his riddles, which in some ways, will showcase more of Batmans detective skills and depict The Riddler in a darker fashion.

As for Bane? I don't know how they would include him. If the whole breaking the inmates out of Arkham hadn't been done in BB that would've been a perfect way to introduce him.

really good idea, it makes sense within the nolan-verse

the idea of Selina Kyle-Catwoman appearing on part 3 gives me heartburn.
Not digging that @ all.

QFT.

I want Two Face and then some villians that have never been on film before. We've already had Catwoman twice, now Joker and Two Face twice. I'm ready to mix it up.

Here's the way it will end...

The Joker is on the loose (everybody thinks he is dead), Batman is now wanted by the police, Harvey Dent is in jail, all the mob bosses are dead and the freaks run the city.
