The only survivors we see in the first film are the two Norwegian guys in the helicopter. So unless she found some other way to get off the base, I think it's pretty safe to say that she is going to die.

i think she is gonna escape with some vehicle or maybe even with a UFO, i refuse to belive that they let everyone die in this one

I think it'll add a new little element to John Carpenter's The Thing if one of the new characters manages to escape and is either lost in the snow or gets away and we find out help is to be sent soon enough after the events of Carpenter's movie.

Though I guess if a character escapes and help is sent, which arrives after the events of Carpenter's movie that would set up a third movie in the series.

Neat. I used a translator to read that & it says some if not most of the budget was used for the 'Thing'

The Norwegian actors were in Canada for four months while filming this spring. Langhelle says that about 15 of the 70 million dollar film's cost, has been used to animate the alien monster.

The first two pics are of Langhelle who plays the Norwegian who bites the snow after being shot in the eye at the beginning of The Thing. He's wearing the same coat and blue hoodie!

Watched John Carpenter's last night. My brother and his friend had never seen it. They let a shout when the stomach burst open, and during the blood test scene. It's been years since I've seen that reaction. They loved it. Hopefully the new prequel has some tricks of its own.

Bizarre. It appears Universal's The Thing is no longer an April 29, 2011 release.

The prequel, directed by Matthijs van Heijningen, has been pulled from that debut date and is now floating in the ether waiting for a new date. Universal is apparently looking at the calendar trying to figure that out.

Strange that this comes not too long after a trailer debut at the New York City Comic-Con. A preview that was bootlegged online but has not officially hit the scene in crystal clarity. Does Universal need more time to fine tune the picture? Did a test screening go awry? Who knows... Scream 4, which is slated to open two weeks prior to the film's April 29 release, didn't appear to pose a threat.

This sucks.

And that sucks too, btw I checked the films set to release in 2011 and I think that September is a good month to release the movie, there isn't any big movies set to release around that month.
