Prequel to 'The Thing'

...yeah, because adding "Origin" to any title ever has really worked out great :-P

Ideally it would be "The Thing From Another World" or "Who Goes There?" or maybe "Matthijs van Heijningen Jr.'s THE THING" ... although that doesn't have quite the same ring to it that John Carpenter's The Thing does, now does it?

Fun thread to read, very interesting how the atmosphere in here was unanimously that of disapproval, yet over time and with more news being released, people are warming up to this.

I hope it lives up to what it's trying to accomplish. The Thing is the most intense movie I've ever seen. Great atmosphere, great scenes, one of the most badass and well dressed characters ever, this movie is classic.

Seriously, it's Kurt Russel with an insane sombrero, flying helicopters in Antarctica, and with a bottle of whiskey in hand. Is it possible to be more manly?

Maybe The Thing: From Another World would be another good subtitle? It pays homage to the title of the original and at the same time also has a stand-alone quality to it.

How about " Thing: The Beginning" sounds better than origin. Just use a word that means beginning or start or before ie: genesis, predecessor. Thesaurus' are your friend

ShockTillYouDrop said it'll be coming soon and it'll be different from the one they showed at NYCC last Oct.

Expect a trailer soon. I've heard one is in the works that's different than the preview shown at the New York Comic-Con.
