^ These people need to look up the definition of "soon." We've been told it's coming soon for so very long now.

Hahaha. While that's incredibly true, it can't be that far off now that the teaser poster is out. How long do trailers usually debut after a poster hits? Like a week or two?

Not really sure.

TDKR's poster just released a couple hours ago, and the teaser is going to drop within the week.

So hopefully, we get this trailer within the month? Hopefully.

Hopefully.

Ha. Keyword right there. But I was just in the bat forums & read that the teaser trailer for TDKR will be with Harry Potter so if that's true, could The Thing's trailer be coming out this week or next week?

Great poster, the trailer needs to come, like ASAP!

Yeah, I really do think we're in desperate need of a trailer. This film has been too quiet lately.

I've been semi following this movie and haven't seen anything remotely interesting or original and that copy-cat of the original's poster continues the trend.

I suspect that this is going to be another Holloween and Nightmare on Elm Street style film. A terrible stale imatation that only makes the original look even better.

Posting for the sake of the thread, cleaned up version:

Rated R for: Strong creature violence and gore, disturbing images, and language.

That poster is ok, but I really hope they bring out a better poster before the movie comes out. Prequel should be on the poster or people might think it is a crappy remake or something.

This site says the trailer comes in for a total time of 2:22. If it's true.... :awesome:

At last. The trailers roughly comes out two weeks after the classification so my guess is that it'll be attached to Cowboys & Aliens but of course there's a possibility it could come out earlier.

A cammed version of the trailer has popped up online. Most of the two minutes you get nothing but two overly long dialogue scenes, then you get the barrage of quick cut images.

Are you talking about the trailer that they showed at NYCC?

The video I saw was posted on a news site with the new poster and todays date on it, so I assume it is new but I don't know what was shown NYCC.

EDIT: After a quick poke around on youtube, I have seen that the footage is old and did come from NYCC. So don't worry about my total non-scoop as I have been the victim of shoddy journalism. :)

Jesus, it looks pretty much like a remake. The same concept. It doesn't help it has the same title. I get that it's a prequel, but it looks like too much of a love note to the original. I sense this won't be good.

Sadly, I agree :csad:
But ill keep my hopes up, it does look good.

Completely agree. I guess the only reason they're calling it a prequel is so they don't piss off the fans. Basically everything is the same except Kurt Russell is a chick.

It isn't helping that it has the same circumstance, same environment, add to the fact it's also called just The Thing that if they didn't say it's a prequel one can say it's a remake since there's also scenes that are reminiscent to Carpenter's movie. There aren't new to bring to the table expect for throwing in a female as the lead. Although I'm still curious to see if it does fit with Carpenter's movie and heck, if it isn't good I could see it just for MEW. :D

It does look good though, bout damn time they put it out! I will be seeing this day one.

Eh, it doesn't excite me at all. It doesn't look to offer anything new. My God, it's the same damn set up, only it takes place before the original.

One could argue that about a lot of films and their sequels. I don't mind that it is the same because it being a semi-reboot/prequel is fine by me, show the next generation how cool this type of terror is. (as long as they keep it like the originals paranoia horror)
