Transformers PRIME & MEGATRON..brothers.....?

hmm... Ladiesman217...

Everytime I saw your username, it bothers me a little. :D :D

I think he said No Sam! as he thought Sam was giving Megatron the Allspark, not killing him.

I'm pretty sure OP knew what Sam was trying to do...and it wasn't giving the Allspark to Megatron.

Yeah, same here. I think Optimus just felt that if someone had to sacrifice themself to destroy the allspark, he wanted it to be himself and no one else. He felt responsible.

sense of responsibility... right answer

That final air strike did wreck up Megs good. If Prime sacrificed himself and destroyed the Allspark I still think the Decepticons would be defeated. 3 Autobots and the rest of the US Air Force would've ended up defeating the cons or forcing them to retreat. If Megs was able to obtain the Allspark it would be game over for Earth as he would have created a huge army from the get go.

ah yes, also don't forget my friends that the military did start using Sable rounds which melted through their metal/armor.:cwink: They found that out after fighting off Scorponok.

In the script, IIRC, they were in fact literal brothers, with one of the Autobots asking if Prime could really kill his own brother. I'm happy they took that out, personally.

Yes, indeed he did, I've seen it three times now and that's exactly what he says. I caught it even the first time, b/c it took me by surprise he said it. I do remember reading some comic book or whatever based on the movie. In the pages that dealt with OP and Megs fighting at the end, the beginning of the fight they both look across at one another and say something like "Hello, brother!".
ah, thanks for the confirm.

Honestly I was a bit of shocked when hearing Prime said that, but quickly it became understandable to me. They know each other too well, in a sense, they are like brothers. (on different sides).

If the AllSpark was destroyed I woulda high-tailed it outta there with Starscream, called down my boys from Cybertron, and rolled all over the Earth.

I'd a rolled all over it with my boys and found it the first time. No need to look for Megs.

I forget, by Transformers lore, are female TFs capable of childbirth?

I'm just trying to figure out if it's even physiologically possible for Prime and Megs to be literal brothers.

If he does truly consider Megatron to be his brother, it can only be in the sense that the allspark is technically father and mother to all transformers/cybertronians. So being that they both were born of that cube, they're technically "brothers", I guess.

Now that is how I took it, but...........................

Megatron and Starscream were both whooping everyone's ass all over the place. I don't get Optimus Prime's logic behind it, cuz if he sacrifices himself he is only destroying the AllSpark. That leaves two almost unstoppable monsters to rip the planet to shreds.

Maybe because he figured the humans had a better chance against just Megs and Starscream as opposed to an army of Decepticons Megs would have unleashed if he got the Allspark. Just my 2 cents.

As said before, I saw the reference to 'brother' as more metaphorical.
And I assumed he said 'No, Sam' because he saw Sam headed towards Megatron and Megatron could literally crush him like a bug.

Didn't we get some of the background on OP's origins in the S2Gen of Transformers (after the original movie). I was almost certain they explored how two transformers considered themselves family because they came from the same assembly line/ creator line.

...This is all from memory folks, don't quote me... I haven't seen this stuff in over 15 years.

In either case he definitely called him brother and I took at being quite literal(He called Jazz his fallen comrade or some such... why not brother?).

I just realised something after viewing the movie for a third time; Prime did not want to kill Megatron.

Megatron was clearly standing directly over Sam, and Prime, rather than telling Sam to shove the Allspark into Megatrons chest, shouts "Shove the cube into 'MY' Chest, NOW!"...

When sam shoved it into Megatron's chest, Prime screams out "No Sam!"

When Megatron died Prime showed remorse towards Megatrons death, and eventhough it's hard to make the distinction between true brothera and just fellow Cybertronian by Primes speech, it can infact be taken literally.

Why would Prime scream 'No' to Sam, and rather have the cube shoved into his own chest? I would say that Prime doesn't take lives no matter how evil they are, but then i remembered how callously he owned Bonecrushers ass on the freeway.

My conclusion is, Prime didn't want Megatron to die. Why? Because they might really be brothers, in the literal sense.

Your thoughts......

Optimus Prime and Megatron are brothers and ruled Cybertron together. Then Megatron got greedy, created the Decepticons and overthrown Prime. So, even though Megatron turned out to be an ******* to Optimus, he still didn't wanna kill Megatron because they were, in fact, actually brothers. But when he saw that the Allspark killed Megatron and didn't make a harmful explosion, he showed remorse, but was pretty much glad that it was he who got destroyed and that the Cybertronian Wars is over.

When the script came out and even in latinoreview.com, it was already stated that they were going to be brothers in the movie; supposedly to make the story more "real" and more fleshed out, but what sucks is that we find out they're brothers like a minute AFTER Megatron dies.

Well, if the Cube gives life, then...wouldn't that how a TF is born? Maybe like every couple or so years, it gives "birth" to a Transformer.

But good thing they took Arcee out of the script because they would have to explain the different genders thing, lol.

Female Transformers

As for the movie, all transformer life apparently stems from the allspark.

As for the topic at hand, I think Prime was concerned with Sams safety, he was pretty much right below Megatron risking his life, and the chance for Megatron to grab the allspark.

Correct me if I am wrong but when Optimus is talking to the other Autobots at the white observatory, I think, and told them that he would put or shove the Allspark in his chest if needed Ratchet told him that could be suicide and they would not know what would happened. And like someone said before at the end of the video game Megatron shoves it into his own chest and takes over. So Optimus saying NO SAM! was he was afraid of what could happened.

It personally interests me to think that they are brothers however, to me they played it out in the movie as a different sense of brothers. Like in the Military you begin to know a person so well that you would possibly call him your brother.

Maybe they came from the same spark, which split in two, maybe that makes them brothers. I don't know, it's just some random, wild idea, don't take it to heart.

I didnt take Prime saying that to mean that they were litterally brothers...I would have expected Megatron to mention it as a taunt to OP if they were.

I think it was in the script that got leaked before the film but, correct me if i'm wrong, didn't jazz talk to Prime about having to kill his own brother after the 'bots obtained the glasses under the brigde? This was supposed in the film and show that Megs was OP's brother but I could be wrong.
