PS5.

I've read one article with the site's writers giving their prediction. Most of them gave a $450 launch price. Thats how I found out about the launching price of the ps4. So I think $450 is a good incentive. Its 50 more eXpensive but not too high especially when the factoring the effect of the pandemic. But I think if both companies really want those launch sales, they should just keep at$399 especially the lack of eXclusives yet.I think $399 for the disc-PS5 and the Series X is the sweet spot to aim for. Of course, with the digital PS5 and the Series S existing, it's possible those consoles could occupy the $399 spot, with the higher end consoles at $499.
I think anything above $499, especially with the pandemic situation going on, will be suicide and pretty much guarantee that console will be DOA at launch. Even $500 is a tough sell in this environment, but $600 would be WAY too expensive.

At $399 I could see a bunch of people jumping in even without much new launch content but not so much at $499.I've read one article with the site's writers giving their prediction. I will jump in on that!At $399 I could see a bunch of people jumping in even without much new launch content but not so much at $499.
Last time Sony’s cheaper price had that much more impact coming right after the Xbox price announcement. If they’d announced their cheaper price before they wouldn’t have got that slam dunk moment that by itself made up many minds on what console to get. So if someone is currently thinking of releasing at $399, they may suspect that they have the lower price (through taking a hit), and it is only worth taking that hit if they can maximise the advantage of doing so by using it as an attack rather than just a regular info release. It the consoles are actually priced at 399.99, or even 299.99 like some people would like, wouldn't Sony or Microsoft have announced the price point by now? I mean, why play a game of chicken with those prices?
I have a feeling that they're pricing the consoles at $600 and one is waiting for the other to announce such price and take all the backlash first. Yes I know the PS3 was at $600 and that was a unacceptable, but the PS5 and XSX come with all this "new" tech/hardware (NVMe SSD ain't cheap).
Sure with the pandemic and recession a high price point is probably unlikely, but Sony and MS will be selling at a loss anyway right? So... Why not go all in and just announce that sweet 300-dollar price tag? I dare you, Sony and MS!

that's why both sides are playing this game of chicken to the last minute, waiting for the other side to blink first.Last time Sony’s cheaper price had that much more impact coming right after the Xbox price announcement. This is just me speculating btw, not based on anything. I don’t have much idea what price the guys will eventually choose but I think that at least is a possible theoretical reason why one could wait even if they had a lower price (without that necessarily meaning that either one is actually going to come out with a lower price).
Halo Infinite is the first big casualty of this cross-gen mindset that MS wants to hold onto and promote. With the 1 year delay, they should just scrap the Xbox One version and make it solely a next-gen game to truly take advantage of the Series X. Especially since it's no longer coming out this year!
Yeah, I think they have this aspect wrong. Gamepass is great but if you can play the most futuristic tech games anywhere, then they won't be as good as they could have been. Have play anywhere for everything else but also have a bunch of market-leading exclusives on the level that a next gen GoW and UC will be, ungimped.Halo Infinite is the first big casualty of this cross-gen mindset that MS wants to hold onto and promote. Also, if you noticed during the July Xbox event, most of the "big" 1st party future titles, like Everwild, Forza Motorsport, Avowed (I think), and Fable only listed Series X and PC as the platforms, not Xbox One.
That not only suggests those titles are going to be at least a few years off, since MS has already stated the 1st several years will feature cross-gen games. But it also is another example of the "double talk" coming from the MS execs, including Phil Spencer. They say they don't believe in console gen exclusivity because that limits where the player can play the game. But, behind the scenes, the next big 1st party games in their lineup are already planned to be next-gen exclusive. Meaning, you'll be forced to upgrade to the new console if you want to play those fancy new Xbox games.
So, why be a hypocrite about it? Why not just go all in and embrace next-gen exclusives like Sony is doing and like how pretty much every gen has done it in the past? Why not just say "Hey, you need to buy our next-gen console to play the amazing new next-gen games we have planned!"?
Just imagine if Halo Infinite had been developed as a next-gen Series X exclusive? And when they showed it off during the July show, the visuals blew everyone away and looked as amazing as the initial reveal trailer from a few years ago. And, it was all proudly running on a Series X.
If they had done that with Halo Infinite, they might not be in the situation they are now. There would be no Craig memes and negative reactions and publicity. They may not have had to delay the game and thus cripple the Series X launch. The Series X could have been in a much stronger position to launch with a next-gen exclusive Halo game that truly showed off its powers and capabilities and made people want to spend $$$ on that new piece of hardware.
Controller costs really annoy me the most! I don't know why they suddenly went through the roof. I don't mind new game costs going up by $10 as buying new is a choice but you need controllers whatever you want to do. At the moment they need to show something good enough to justify all this extra expense of moving to next gen if it's going to be very similar to the current gen for the next couple of years.that's why both sides are playing this game of chicken to the last minute, waiting for the other side to blink first.
in terms of price, I have already prepared myself for a $499 price for either the disc PS5 or the Series X. Anything below that for those main consoles will be a welcome surprise, while anything above that would be an unwelcome deal breaker for me.
Because upgrading to next-gen will entail not only buying the console, but needed accessories, games (which may cost $70 standard), and other "hidden" expenses like the SSD expansion drives (which could be an additional $200+).
And, technically, to get the "full" next-gen experience, I'd have to upgrade my 4k TV to a newer set that takes advantage of the newer gaming tech of the new consoles. I'm not planning on doing that this year, since my current 4k set works just fine, but theoretically that's another $1000+ expense to add to the cost of next-gen.

You should just get the ps5. Well thats my suggestion.Did a planned Monster Energy contest just reveal the price of the Series X?
Xbox Series X Price Possibly Leaked
Based on that, it may suggest the Series X will be $599.99 or $600.00!
Somehow, I'm not sure how much I buy this, because I think that price point would pretty much guarantee the Series X is DOA, especially now that there is no Halo at launch.
Not if the PS5 is $600 as well! You should just get the ps5. Well thats my suggestion.
I would hope neither Sony or MS will be dumb enough to pull a PS3 launch.Hell nah. No way they're dumb enough to pull a PS3 launch
