Iron Man Q & A w/Jon Favreau from his Myspace site!

Hey guys Ardi Garnov e-mailed me back and I asked him who he thought would be good for Stark. If you don't know he's the dude resposnible for the coolest Iron Man art ever that's plastered all over Fav's site. Anyways asked him what he thought about Caviesel and Walhberg too and he didn't really like either but preferred Caviesel if those were the two choices. Wouldn't give me his own opinion...yet.

Best response to me so far!!!

Advanced DarkWrote:
What's the expected time of script completion or near final draft?

Jon Favreau:

We've got two(2!) sets of writers typing away on scenes and outlines. We've got a room full of storyboard illustrators and concept artists. The story has been fully broken. The villian has been selected and the train has left the station. I expect a rough first draft in the next several weeks, though the sequences are being hammered out visually as we speak. I wont reveal any further details on the plot or villians at this time. Marvel likes to trickle this type of info out slowly, as you can understand, and we are a full two years away from release. I did, however, convince them to share some interesting stuff some time in, oh, I don't know, July?

cool ask him to divulge to what extent he's connected to the movie?

I already did. I'm sure he knows it'll be copied onto message boards so he's being careful. He's an inspiration for Favreau but he should come across like he has any control. Just creative input.

I wish Raimi and others would be as open with the fans about their movie projects as this guy has. It's nice to know not everyone has a bad opinion of comic book fans.

Favreau is cool and this should give us a solid franchise for years to come under Favreau.

It's be funny if the villain was Elf huh?

"Oooooooooooh a Christmasgram...can I have one!"

^ Yep and when the movie comes out we can look to see if any of our suggestions made it into the film.

is it too late to make a request movie wise? I dont know what took me so long but i just wanted to ask if it could be possible to put jim "rhody" rhodes in the film. Not necessarily to be war machine but to be tony's best friend.

And that is some cool news, im sooo sooo happy iron man is finally coming into place, cause its been a painful few years!!

No it's not too late and he already answered that question on Rhody I'm sure of it. Just look through this thread...it's here somewhere. I think he said yes.

The Replacements = football movie with Favreau and Keanu

The Replacement Killers = action movie with Chow Yun Fat and Mira Sorvino.

I just saw him in the break up his character Johnny O was so funny. I have alot of respect for Jon for how he relates with us ironfans.

Favreau is cool, can't wait for the comic con news, hopefully it will be suit art and the villain anouncement

Jon did answer the question about Jim Rhodes, he will be in the movie as well as Pepper Potts. He also hinted that we may see War Machine in a sequal.

Liking this big time...mostly because he dropped that "father villain" storyline.

Guys I got another big scoop!

Check it out! I started a thread on his site about Iron Man's competition and was speculating about the release date....

Jon Favreau,

We're coming out in May. Official announcement to be made shortly.

^ That is from Universal Studios, I saw it there about 10 years ago.

Wonder if Favreau will use it as a trophy of sorts in Starks hallway where they'll show the evoloution of the armor.

I hope not cause it looks like it's made of plastic!

This movie is shaping up nicely. I am glad they attached a director who cares about the source material and fans more than making the big bucks.
