i just picked up the first issue of eternals today, and while i like what's going on so far, i'm not no sure about sersi...since when did she go from avenger to ditzy party planner?

Since now when apparently something happened to them and they don't quite remember who they are and apparently don't have their full powers yet.

i don't know...it just seemed weird to me...sersi's the only eternal i'm really familiar with, so to see her like that makes me wonder if this is a retcon, or something...i'm hoping it's all part of the story.

I don't get the impression that it's a retcon. It kinda looked like the Deviants did something to them. Or if it wasn't the Deviants then it's a good chance it was themselves to hide out for some reason.

I was waiting for that comic to come out and all of a sudden I see issue one and two behind the counter and its now $10. I guess I'll wait until its all in one collected book or something.
Is it like that everywhere?

I have no idea what's going on but it was a pretty good to me. umm question though, isn't thanos one of these eternals? as for the pricing, you should go back and smack that guy for selling it that high.

wait a minute that is a good question. how the hell you saw #2

Yeah, but he's an Eternal of Titan, not an Eternal of Earth. It looks like The Eternals of Titan were uneffected. I'm assuming this is because Kirby didn't create The Eternals of Titan, and this is meant to only be the origional Eternals.

What you probably saw were the alternate covers, not issue two. Most stores will being selling them at a higher price.

Whic's why I'll wait till they're 88 cents at Lone Star before I ever pick 'em up.

Well the 1st issue was interesting enough to get me back for more. But I was somewhat underwhelmed. I mean, it is suppose to be Neil Gaiman, correct?

So I expect more from Gaiman.

Well this isnt really Sandman level stuff here. Its more along the lines of 1602.

Agreed, there were 3 different cover. Damn, I know this was a 1st issue and had some big names involved but lately all these variant covers are giving me a bad feeling.:(

Eh, it's no big deal, Trop. If they start putting out foil and hologram covers, then it's time to worry. :D :p

I don't see where the disapointment should lie. Even Sandman wasn't always Sandman level stuff. The really mind blowingly awesome stories didn't happen every month. Eternals seems to be about as good as the first issue of Sandman.

Well I understand where hes coming from, you always compare a mans work to his best work.

The road to Hell isn't really paved with good intentions. It's paved first with variant covers, then foil covers, then die cut covers and finally with hologram covers. If you see a die cut, foil hologram cover which is a variant of an existing cover then you're fragged!:(

I'm giving it my routine look to see if it may be good,..
I only have issue with how easy it was to hurt Ike Harris.

True. Still, all I say is give it time. Sandman wasn't bind blowing amazing in it's first issue either. Once Gaiman gets a few stories in, I'm sure things'll pick up.

I'm guessing that The Eternals' powers have been stripped along with their memories, and Ikaris' are only slowly returning with his memories.

I liked the first issue a lot. I like the Eternals, I love Gaiman, and I love JRJr. So this mini is firing on all cylinders for me.

I think this first issue was great for what it was. It introduced the main characters, set up the story, provided the mystery and did it all while being entertaining and engaging. I couldn't have asked for more.
