Question about Hal Jordan and racism

To me it's hard to forget.It's like Archie Bunker in the first few season's of All in the Family...at first he was an out right racist[to every kind of people I might add] but towards the end of the show and the spinn off he had changed a lot.Now I know that Hal is not writen in this fashion but it's hard for me to let go of the idea and to be honest I would rather not forget.To me it give's Hal more character for him to have once been in the wrong...to realize it ..and to have grown from that knowledge.

Kind of makes the Guardians look like tools for picking him, though, doesn't it? They're gonna give a ring with nearly limitless power and the mission of protecting an entire sector of planets and species to a guy who irrationally hates people from his own planet who look identical to him in every way except for the color of their skin? Not much foresight from the oldest race in the universe there...

I don't think he ever hated black people.

This may look bad out of context, but in context, Hal is talking about John's (at the time) disrespect for others and anger issues.

Actually the Guardians did not pick Hal Abin Sur's ring did and it only did so because Hal was closer to the crash site.Years earlyer while studying earth for a posible GL replacement for sector 2814 the Guardians first choice was Guy Gardner.When Abin's ship crashed landed on earth he instructed his ring to seek out an individual who was "utterly honest and born without fear" to take his place as Green Lantern.

I thought that Hal and Guy were equally worthy ring-bearers, and that since Hal was closer the ring went to him instead of Guy. It has nothing to do with the Guardians picking Guy and not Hal in the first place or something; they picked them both.

And as seen in IC, power rings tend to pick their own wearers anyway immediately upon death of their GL.

The only truly random, out-of-the-blue choice for GL was Kyle. That's what made him so special, that no one had any idea at all whether he was even remotely qualified for it or not.

well all you have to do i click the button that says Marvel comics board[right above the Dc comics button] and go find out. I know it seems to easy, but thats how you can get their. When you get their, look for a user called Rick Vulcan he will be your guide. Tell him your a...friend of mines, he will show you where to find the "prick" of the marvel baord. Becareful though, the marvel board is full of shady charaacters who will not heistant to take your man hood. Some people have never returned from the marvle board the same, but i trust you have what it takes......god speed.
