How bout this,

So Batman's detective skills wasn't all that since Lex has been feeding him clues in the first place throughout the film right?

He has been manipulating him for 2 years and he wanted the Kryptonite to be with Batman in the first place?

Not sure if he had been manipulating him for two years, he only acknowledged "pushing him over the edge". The manipulation of both Superman and Batman probably started in this film or shortly before it.

But yeah, he wanted the Kryptonite to end up with Batman.

Yeah, when Lex says Bruce's hate is "ripe fruit" and "two years growing" he meant Bruce's hatred was growing since the events of MOS. And that it didn't take much to push Batman over the edge (the notes, the explosion.)

But Lex does have great powers of manipulation in this movie, and a lot on the heroes.

I wish there was an explanation how Bruce learned about Kryptonite qualities and effect on Kryptonians.

I'm also interested why they intended to smuggle Kryptonite before Lex was refused by Finch in bringing it legally. Unless he foreseen it somehow... If so, it would be really nice if he said something about her stubbornness that he expected this kind of thinking from her...

Actually, that's a good point. These two scenes need to be flipped.

They can't be flipped. Bruce looks for it right from the very beginning. Means plans for smuggling it in existed for a while. For months. To explain Lex's intent to smuggle it right away, he needed to say to Finch, that he expected as much from her. But I don't remember what he actually said to her in that scene...

No, he was visibly angry with her. He was clenching his jaw to not snap her neck right then and there. You can rearrange the scenes, but you'll have to introduce Batman later into the movie. I don't know how well it would work, if at all.

Then it's a legit plot hole. It can't be fixed. Unless it's somehow arranged in the film like this:
1) 18 months later diving scene.
2) Cut to Lex discussing Kryptonite and anti-alien weapon with the gov.
3) Cut to sequence with him feeding candy to some senator or I don't remember who he was and getting access to Zod and the ship.
4) Cut to Lex's scene with Finch.

Then Africa scene.

Only after that Batman vs. cops scene. It would explain that Bruce's intent to intercept the smuggling. Since by that time it's set in motion by Lex, who was refused by Finch. But it creates another sequence problem. Because it seemed that the government agreed to give Lex access to the ship after Africa events, where Superman became a figure of controversy.

UPD. Damn, then we need to insert Africa scene like this:
1) 18 months later diving scene.
2) Cut to Lex discussing Kryptonite and anti-alien weapon with the gov.
3) Africa scene and the court with a black woman.
4) Cut to sequence with him feeding candy to some senator or I don't remember who he was and getting access to Zod and the ship.
5) Cut to Lex's scene with Finch.
6) Batman vs. cops scene.

Christ, this script...

Yeah, that's roughly what I think too. I don't know if it was written in the script like that or if this is another editing problem, because they wanted to jump around between the different characters.

I'll need to have the movie in front of me to process the correct order.

How come Superman felt so desperately to save his mother, but wouldn't save his father?
Just a little ironic

I will be looking for a fan edit of the film for sure. They messed up continuity.

That's the point. Superman is righting his wrong's from the first film in the hero he sees himself becoming. He's acting upon the word of his father while at the same time, revenging his own tragic decision's the first film brought upon him. The ironic thing is, Bruce is doing the exact same thing and it's tragedy that ultimately brings their conflict with each other together.

OR

He was planning to smuggle it in the first place and that scene with the Senator was just to see if she feels same way as he do about the metahumans deterent and if she could be a legal ally. Since she is not, then BOOM she's dead.

His reaction doesn't make sense in that case, though and worst yet, his motivation doesn't make sense. I don't think he ever intended a deterrent, this was his 'cover story' to get the Kryptonite without the hassle and access to the ship.

- I remember bringing up how I didn't know why Lois went back for the spear (and why the hell she tossed it in the first place) and someone mentioned that she may have overheard Batman talking about the spear but on 2nd viewing this is definitely not the case. Batman is flying in the Batwing towards the Doomsday chaos when he talks to Alfred about the spear and a scene or so after that Lois is randomly going back for the spear when she sees some stuff going on in the horizon. I guess I'm supposed to believe that she was smart enough to believe that the monster was Kryptonian but whatever, I was wondering if maybe a scene was cut of Alfred contacting her and telling her to retrieve it. No biggie, but it still stood out to me my first viewing, just reminded me of the nonsense of Lois making it over to that train station in record time at the end of MoS after seeing Supes/Zod crashing back to Earth from miles away.

Lois hides the spear in case Batman changes his mind, and so no one can else can use it until they can dispose of it properly.

Lois suspects Doomsday is Kryptonian for two reasons:
-Doomsday has heat vision, like the other Kryptonians.
-Doomsday appears to be as strong as Superman.

They need something to stop Doomsday. Even if she's only guessing that Doomsday is of Kryptonian origin, her actions here make perfect sense.

- This has also been brought up but on 2nd viewing it's just ridiculous that Supes didn't continue trying to talk to Bruce during their fight. Superman shoves Bruce for whatever reason 50ft back after he screams in his face at the start of the fight. Then after destroying the gun turrets walks towards him without saying a word and then flies him through a building that could have killed him but in the end just gave Bruce more reason to try and put Supes down. Granted, I know we don't have our big fight if Bats calmly listens to Supes about the situation but I expected more, like Alfred being in Bruce's ear begging him to stop and listen and Bruce shutting off communication. It just seemed like Supes wanted to waste his time toying with Bruce instead of getting to the point of "Hey, my mother has been kidnapped and I only got about *checks watch* 45 minutes"

Superman wanted Batman to stop his aggression and listen to him. He tries to reason with Batman. The second Batman shows he's willing to assault him, Superman shows that he is willing to put him down immediately. It is essentially a show of force.

Even his dialogue informs this: "Stay down, if I wanted it, you'd be dead already". He's basically telling Batman he's out of his league.

The film made it clear that Batman was not going to listen to Superman reasoning with him. He was, if Superman was not attacking him, going to be attacking Superman.

This. Luthor has backup plans.

This just means Batman's human and fallible, which the movie shows us in spades.

Even great detectives are human.

Batman doesn't see through Luthor's ruse because he doesn't want to look. He has an emotional reaction to Superman's arrival, not a purely logical one.

How come Superman felt so desperately to save his mother, but wouldn't save his father?
Just a little ironic

To be fair, he was desperate to save his father, too. He just chose to honor his father's wishes regarding revealing himself.

This film represents a character who has stopped hiding what he can do from the world.

The character in MAN OF STEEL was in a completely different place psychologically.

I wouldn't go so far as saying perfect sense, especially with throwing it down in the water, she could have just set it down somewhere and waited for help. But it does make some better sense, sure.

It just felt that at the start of the fight the priority should have been to explain the situation. As soon as Bruce screams at Supes he shoves him back which is a fair show of force I guess but it seems silly that with how important Martha is to him he doesn't say a word about the situation after that. And his throwing Bruce through a building at the very start was more than a show of force, he could have killed him right then and there.

Well, she tells Batman & Superman that there's been an strange activity on the kryptonian ship, she tells them the city's electricity power is over there. She throws the spear. She starts leaving, She sees Superman fighting a monster.

Lois assuming that monster was kryptonian isn't too far fetched.

Has Zack Snyder come out and said something about Superman and his freeze breath? Once again there were a few moments he could have used that power but doesn't.

I'd forgotten that she was aware of the strange, widely-reported weird activity on the Kryptonian ship.

I think that, coupled with the fact that this thing fighting Superman is superstrong and has heat vision...it's a pretty obvious conclusion to draw.

I have a harder time with her making the connection between the glowing rock and Superman being weakened than I do with her associating Doomsday as Kryptonian.

Yeah, that's a good point. Sounds like she hadn't seen Doomsday when she first tossed the spear, then goes outside, sees him, then goes back.

She sees Superman's HUGE bleeding wound on the side of his face due to the spear Batman is holding. She sees how weakened he is. She throws it two times. The first one she tries to get it away as far away from a beaten and weak Superman. Who only recovers when she throws it away.

What model Android phone does Bruce Wayne use?
I'm probably wrong, but a Microsoft Lumia 950?

Did Diana know Bruce Wayne is Batman. If she did, then how?
