Superman Returns Questions you would ask Singer in an interview regarding anything SR or SR sequel

Why did you ruin the man of steel into a man of cry and who told you to do a chick flick ?
Why didnt you stick to mutants ?
There are rumors about you being Marvels troyan horse in DCs greatest superhero, is that true ?
Where did you spent 200 million dollars ? What did you do with all that money ?
Batman Begins looked more epic than Superman returns and it was cheaper ....
You told the people this would be an epic movie, what was so epic about ?
Why didnt you intodruce new villains, like for example Metallo built by Luthor ?
Do you know who Metallo is ?

Dude you do know that Singer only knows those villains that appeared in the donner movies right?

Why does the world not need superman? Well the world does seem to not need your version, but I mean in the movie. Lois got a pulitzer prize for it. There must have been some good reasons in that essay.

Why is kryptonite so weak in the movie? Come on.

I loved when superboy Killed that guy. Will we see more children killing in the sequel?

I felt the film overall had a very bland feel like a airport or hotel lounge area. Will we get more style, perhaps a more upbeat tone in the sequel?

Explain young clark's glasses.

And settle the vague history debates once and for all. My sister thinks this is superman V. Is it?

Bryan fans at bluetights are livid. They hate your movie while us here at SHH have nothing but praise for it. What would you say to those haters at BT?

ROFLMAO :woot:
Good one

^There're all wrong and he is right is what he would say.

My cousin made the best observation after he saw the film. "Why didn't Lex just shoot him when he was depowered on that Kryptonite island? Every time a hero is depowered, the bad guy never just grabs a gun and shoots him and finishes him off." So why didn't you have Lex at least shoot him too in the only chance he would have had to do so?

And why did you have to make Superman Jesus and parallel the bible. I mean couldn't you think of another story than ripping off...instead of.....oh I don't know.....the Bible.

Hi Bryan, first off, i loved the movie but i would like to ask some things:

1) I felt the Return To Krypton scen should have been left in the movie, even if it would have made the movie longer i think it would have given some weight to certain scene's in the movie.

2) Brandon Routh is quite simply superb casting, was he a joy to work with also and was he eager to learn?

3) Did you draw influence from any other comic book movies released since X-Men and Blade started the 'boom' so to speak. I ask because some scene's in the movie look similar to ones in other comic book movies.

4) In regards to the sequel do you have a villain in mind and can you give us a hint to who it is?

5) Also, will the subsequent sequels be made darker or lighter?

6) Can you give any hints towards Richard's and Jason's roles in the sequel?

Good luck with the sequel Bryan and keep up the good work.

Oooooookkkkaaaayyyyyy. Well this was pointless. I guess you are just drunk again like the other night. Or I guess I am not familiar with the word photoshop when talking about SR's parallels to Jesus and the Bible, which Singer mentioned he intentionally did in an interview.

I'd ask him if I can have a part in his next movie.

Oh yeah... BTW, you can ask the villain question in almost every superhero movie... Why didn´t the Green Goblin unmask Spidey on the roof or didn´t kill him with the machine guns on his glider when he was hanging at the bridge? Why didn´t Ra´s just let his henchmen get together and kill Bruce at Wayne Manor, when he was outnumbered and had no equipment?

The majority of the people on a comic book board is far from being a representation of the majority of people in general.

Except we are ON a comic board, where you are posting your snarky comments. So I CAN quote a "majority".

Here's another question: Will you allow your friends and family to ruin the next film, if you even get a chance to make it? Will you let them tell you it was "too long", causing you to cut IMPORTANT scenes, but leave in "head scratching" ones?

Those are VERY simple to answer. He didn't unmask him because he wanted him to join him. Did you not see that part? Why would Spiderman join him, if GG un-masks him just "because I can"? And he WAS going in for the kill on the bridge, when the people got involved. Again I have to ask, did you see the movie? For GG it was PERSONAL, so he wasn't going to use machine guns to kill him. He was going to drive his glider INTO Spiderman, when he was "interrupted".

And Ra's wanted Bruce to know it was personal too. He wanted Bruce to "lower his defenses", so his thug could walk up and stab him in the heart. That was the point of that scene. Plus, there was a respect there. He was giving Bruce one final chance to join him.

You know, these things SHOULD be obvious.

Where as in SR, Luthor wanted to kill Superman. Period. That was his whole intention. So my cousins comment was, since he wanted to kill him, and he knew Superm was depowered at that point, why not, after his hencmen beat him up, just shoot him. It was the only time that he could have officially just gotten rid of Superman for good.

I also think that they should have shown Luthor making weapons, or growing them, instead of playing cards. And they should have said something about why the Kryptonian weapons by using Brando's line "The history of our universe was a bloody mozaic of interplanetery war" Why showing a hologram of Kryptonian weapons being used in a war.

Unmasking Spidey should have given him one more reason to join Goblin: "I know your secret, I can tell everybody". If it was so personal for Ra´s, why did he let a thug get a shot at killing him?

I can use the same personal argument for Lex Luthor. He wouldn´t use a gun. He´s use kryptonite, a piece of Superman´s land, to stab him. Add insult to injury. And not just kill him with a quick stroke, but let him suffer from the poisoning.

Regarding SR :

1 When invisionaing the trilogy , what did you really plan for the franchise. Were you eventually going to actually use the comics for you're stories or rather go with you're own written script

2 Were you surprised at the backlask SR got at the BO ? Obviously this wasn't what you or for that matter WB had expected in terms of critical and commercial response. Has it affected you're decisions for the trilogy ?

3 Given the fact that other comic book movies like Spiderman , Fantastic Four and Batman BEgins raised the bar in terms of action and using the comics as the basis for the story , why didn't you choose a physical villain that could fight Superman.

4 Why didn't you send you're script to influential comic book writer and/or ask them to at least participate in writing the script. Why did you just use you're own script ?

5 You could afford not reading reports on yourself with X1 , but i think the same caanot be said for SR. So how do you deal with that ? Do you still shun the internet forums , even tough SR did underperform.

6 Why did you use Sony Imageworks as the main studio for you're VFX ? Why not ESC FX who were at the time hoping to work on the Superman movie.
Can you confirm or deny the rumor that you heard two guys of Sony Imageworks talking about their CG city that they build for spiderman and so you simply decided to use them ?

7 Why did you add Jason to the story of Superman ? What was you're reason behind that.

8 Why does SR resemble the Donner films alot. From the opening title sequences to the plane rescue , it seems that you have remade the Donner flicks. Why didn't you introduce you're own version of the story. With new credits , new scenes and so forth. And why just get the blessing from Donner and Reeves'family ? Do comic book writers deserve nothing ?

9 As a film director , what would you think to be the ideal budget to make a superman movie ?
180 million
200 million
250 milliom
300 million
Explain why

Regarding the sequel :
1 With the fact that you do need to make ( drastic) improvements on the sequel , in order for it to make a big profit again ...are you willing to listen to the fans this time. Actively participate with influential comic book writers so that you can at least make the script right.

2 Here's a suggestion. What do you think about the George Lucas approach with shooting an entire movie with blue screens and very minimal sets. Obviously movies like Superman require an enormous amount of VFX and as recent news articles have pointed out even tough the technology gets better and better , more money is being spent on the VFX to get it right.
Why not take the same approach as George Lucas did and shoot these movies with blue/green screens as well as digital cameras.
Financially it would be a good way because most of the budget can be used for the VFX's budget as well as the fact that the shooting schedule is shortened. Which again is an added benefit as that would mean that you're POST-PROD period is longer.

3 Will there be any physical villains and if so , how will they fit into the storyline with Superman , Lois , Jason and Richard

4 Will you delve deeper with Jason or just keep him as Superman's son ?

same questions i would ask to the son of a *****

I guess shooting holes in your "Defense" ONCE wasn't enough...

The reason he WOULDN'T unmask Spiderman was he wanted to join him WILLINGLY. A partnership built on threats and mis-trust would do GG no good. He gave him his opportunity to join, he refused, GG wanted him to suffer. Not rocket-science here. And why did Ra's give one of his "goons" a shot? Did you not read the part where I said he was trying to get him to "lower his defenses"? Once Bruce turned him down that final time, he wanted him dead, and by TELLING him how he was going to do it. It just didn't work out that way. Simple.

As to you using my "argument"? No, no you can't. As was referenced earlier in the picture, Lex had already tried killing Superman with Kryptonite(Part of that wonderful "vague history"). So to try AGAIN using the SAME method makes absolutely zero sense. And if he wanted him to die using Kryptonite, why didn't he fly down and get his body? Or hold his head under water and drown him? Right here is where the Dr. Evil parallel REALLY rears it's ugly head: "I'm not going to actually watch him die, I'm just going to assume it all went to plan...What?". Was playing cards THAT much more important than offing Superman?

First of all, Green Goblin couldn´t care less on what grounds he was establishing his partnership with Spidey. His basic proposal was "join me or I´ll kill you", so threatening the guy with his secret was far from below him.

It wasn´t the same method, since he was actually putting kryptonite INSIDE his body, making it much harder to remove and they were on a piece of land in the middle of nowhere and Superman, already horribly wounded, fell to the sea. At that point, from all he knew, Lois and Richard were dead. There was no one to rescue him. He had his vengeance by watching his henchmen beat the **** out of him and stabbing him with kryptonite.

Stupid movie it may be , but that don't mean you need to twist the facts :cwink:
Supes was wounded , but he did power up big time when he rose above the clouds and bathed into the sunlight. That's where his strength came to lift up the continent.

Exactly, and Lex wasnt to know that Superman had saved Lois and Jason, so how would he know that they were able to save Superman, he couldnt, so he naturally and rightfully assumed that Superman drowned.
