I loathe the traditional generic questions we always see asked for high profile interviews for the likes of Singer...

If you could interview Singer, what would you ask in regards to SR or the SR sequel?

I only have a couple off the top of my head.

SR questions:
1. What was the hardest scene or scenes for you to delete?

2. Will there ever be a DVD available that reinserts all the deleted scenes that fans want back in?

Sequel questions:

1. Will you explain more of Superman's past including a little look into how he became Superman?

2. Fans always have been fascinated with the civilization of Krypton. Would you consider explaining a little of Krypton's past as well as possibly showing a younger Jor-el maybe when a counsel was formed?

3. Brainiac and Metallo. What are the chances? (yep I'd ask it that blunt hee hee)

Can I note something?

Serious answers people...I don't feel like hearing crap like this "Yeah, Singer, why are you so stupid for doing this this and this?" it gets old.

SR questions:

1. Besides the reasoning you've already stated, is there a deeper reason why you don't think we, as an audience, would've not like the Return to Krypton sequence?

2. Were there any pick-up shots that you had to do for the film?

SR Sequel questions:

1. If you were to incorporate the Return to Krypton scene in it, how would it be used?

2. Besides Brandon and Kate, does Spacey also have a multiple film contract?

3. Would the average response from the public(besides me...I loved it) on SR determine any decisions regarding budget or creativity for the next one?

Regarding SR :

1 When invisionaing the trilogy , what did you really plan for the franchise. Were you eventually going to actually use the comics for you're stories or rather go with you're own written script

2 Were you surprised at the backlask SR got at the BO ? Obviously this wasn't what you or for that matter WB had expected in terms of critical and commercial response. Has it affected you're decisions for the trilogy ?

3 Given the fact that other comic book movies like Spiderman , Fantastic Four and Batman BEgins raised the bar in terms of action and using the comics as the basis for the story , why didn't you choose a physical villain that could fight Superman.

4 Why didn't you send you're script to influential comic book writer and/or ask them to at least participate in writing the script. Why did you just use you're own script ?

5 You could afford not reading reports on yourself with X1 , but i think the same caanot be said for SR. So how do you deal with that ? Do you still shun the internet forums , even tough SR did underperform.

6 Why did you use Sony Imageworks as the main studio for you're VFX ? Why not ESC FX who were at the time hoping to work on the Superman movie.
Can you confirm or deny the rumor that you heard two guys of Sony Imageworks talking about their CG city that they build for spiderman and so you simply decided to use them ?

7 Why did you add Jason to the story of Superman ? What was you're reason behind that.

8 Why does SR resemble the Donner films alot. From the opening title sequences to the plane rescue , it seems that you have remade the Donner flicks. Why didn't you introduce you're own version of the story. With new credits , new scenes and so forth. And why just get the blessing from Donner and Reeves'family ? Do comic book writers deserve nothing ?

9 As a film director , what would you think to be the ideal budget to make a superman movie ?
180 million
200 million
250 milliom
300 million
Explain why

Regarding the sequel :
1 With the fact that you do need to make ( drastic) improvements on the sequel , in order for it to make a big profit again ...are you willing to listen to the fans this time. Actively participate with influential comic book writers so that you can at least make the script right.

2 Here's a suggestion. What do you think about the George Lucas approach with shooting an entire movie with blue screens and very minimal sets. Obviously movies like Superman require an enormous amount of VFX and as recent news articles have pointed out even tough the technology gets better and better , more money is being spent on the VFX to get it right.
Why not take the same approach as George Lucas did and shoot these movies with blue/green screens as well as digital cameras.
Financially it would be a good way because most of the budget can be used for the VFX's budget as well as the fact that the shooting schedule is shortened. Which again is an added benefit as that would mean that you're POST-PROD period is longer.

3 Will there be any physical villains and if so , how will they fit into the storyline with Superman , Lois , Jason and Richard

4 Will you delve deeper with Jason or just keep him as Superman's son ?

Why'd you copy donner so much?

Do you plan to have Jason and supes become a superhero team?

You said Superman wasn't angst ridden but he's extremely angst ridden in the film. Was that a lie?

I don't understand why superman says he's always around when he's obviously not. Explain it.

Why didn't you go all wrath of khan on this movie when you had such a huge budget?

And since we're on the budget, it cost quite a bit to do the return to krypton sequence. You said you'd save it for I-max if I recall but the movie's already in Imax so why not keep it in? It looked cool in the teaser.

Thank you for your time, Bryan. You've been excellent.

- Do you think studios are spending so much money on blockbuster movies these days it´s gonna get harder and harder to make the kinda profit that these movies are expected to make?

- Do you think WB made a mistake releasing this movie so close to POTC2 when there were many more open, less harshly competitive spots this summer and there was clearly a huge hype for that movie?

- Did you feel offended by the many homophobic insinuations and jokes made towards your take on Superman and the casting of Routh?

- Do you think the sometimes extremely rigid and close-minded fanboy mentality can often get in the way of making great movies based on popular comics? Like, what could anyone do in a retelling of the origin that Donner hasn´t hit it out of the park in the first time already?

why did u turn superman into a metrosexual emo who has an illegitimate child??

These questions are the best of the lot. Great Job:up:. If there was ever a fan interviewer to be voted by members to interview Singer I would choose you hands down.

He would never be honest but:

Is this really the film you envisioned when you took the job?

Why didn't you explore NK to it's fullest?

Was Lex's plan really the best you could come up with?

What was with Clark throwing the dog's ball?

Where is the real film? Why are you hiding it?

How do you feel about people calling Superman a deadbeat dad as if he consciously chose to abandon/neglect his child, which he didn´t?

Why in holy hell did you choose a Superman movie as your choice to make a chick flick? How does Superman and chick flick go together?

Is it as frustrating to you, as it is to the majority of people, to have a sect of "Apologists" attempt to belittle those who see through the many flaws of your film?

I call those guys "The Excuse Crew" because they constantly have to make up one excuse after another on why this film failed instead of accepting fact-it wasn't the Superhero movie the public wanted to see for a Superman movie.

And before you guys get all upset with that label like you did "Apologists", just remember that you guys have been calling us "haters" for a year and a half and we never said a word about it. We didn't run crying to a mod about it.

Was spaceys portrayal of dr. evil in goldmember an inspiration for his character in Returns? No miss lane, Billions? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQ4CweGjUVM

Why did lex's henchmen lock superboy and lois in that room when they know superboy can just break through the door and stuff?

And here's one I've really been having trouble with. Why does superman happily walk right into Lex's clutches? Wouldn't it have been more plausible that he'd go there not just to have the passion beating, but to try and save lois or whoever first? Maybe lex could have used kitty as bate and have her scream for help. Surely lex is smart enough to know superman's greatest weakness above kryptonite is how he cares for people.

Heh, you people cried a river over it...

And some people call it "making excuses" when they can´t accept other people enjoyed what they didn´t and differ in opinion.

The majority of the people on a comic book board is far from being a representation of the majority of people in general.

Will you start the sequel with superman waking up from a bad dream?

-Did you read a single Superman comic?

-Why did you want to make a sequel to a 30 year old film?

-What do you think about POTC's box office?

-Is the kid going to be Superboy? And most important... can you deny there will be a spin-off with his adventures? Because the inclusion of that character has one of these two possibilities written over it...

-Why was the cinematography closer to that of a Batman movie rather than a Superman one?

-What is your opinion on filmmakers cutting out 30 minute long scenes that cost 10 million dollars instead of investing them in something more useful?

-Can you tell us something more about your bank account? More concretely about the potential 50 million dollars pacheck you can recieve if you complete a Superman trilogy...

Why did you ruin the man of steel into a man of cry and who told you to do a chick flick ?
Why didnt you stick to mutants ?
There are rumors about you being Marvels troyan horse in DCs greatest superhero, is that true ?
Where did you spent 200 million dollars ? What did you do with all that money ?
Batman Begins looked more epic than Superman returns and it was cheaper ....
You told the people this would be an epic movie, what was so epic about ?
Why didnt you intodruce new villains, like for example Metallo built by Luthor ?
Do you know who Metallo is ?

This is an absolute lie. No we didn't. I even said the name fit because we do hate what is being done, so being called "haters" was exactly what we should be called.

i thought the sequal to returns was the lois lane spin off?
According to Britain's Sky News, there may be a Lois Lane spin-off film in the works which would star Kate Bosworth.

"Lois will be back bigger and better in the next movie, and with more of her own storyline", said Bosworth.

The article continues on to suggest that their are plans to give Lois Lane her own investigation spin off. The film would be based on the comic series that also featured Lois as the main character.

In the comic, Lois would often battle with criminals in various investigation, defeating them with her quick wits and the Kryptonian martial art of Klurkor, taught to her in the bottle-city of Kandor

The same thing happens every time. Fanboys who disagree with each other start calling the other ones "sheep" or "apologists" (positive ones) or "haters" or "trolls" (negative ones) and both sides whine that the other one is the intolerant one. And yes, a bunch of people on the several SR boards complained like hell about being called "haters", "trolls" at least as much as the others complained about being labeled "apologists" and such.

Another sequel question..

What about Lex with an empire? A bit more business like and now a public split on his persona? Hey, why not Lex for President?!

:)
