Wanna know what's funny. Now that it is all said and done....I think I would have preferred to have seen Bryan Singer's X3 and Brett Ratner's Superman Returns.

P.S. Any one who suses the excuse of "Lex Luthor as the villain....again is lame" needs to count how many times before X3 we have seen Magneto try and kill humanity or ignite a war.

And at least in Singer's films Magneto's conquests and manipulations were menacing and serious as opposed to a stupid "chess analogy" commplete with bad puns and facless sidekicks.

Sorry, but I had to add that.

Magneto; 3 times.

Lex Luthor: 4 times.

Magneto´s Plan; His sacrifice to save the mutantkind.

Lex Luthor´s Plan: His desire only to have, a piece of rock.

Don´t compare a tridimensional character like Ian McKellen´s Magneto, with a corny character like Gene Hackman´s Lex Luthor, or Kevin Spacey´s Lex Luthor.

Ironic, isn't it, that the movie which leads this poll isn't winning at the box office?

Oh I agree that Magneto (on screen) is a much better villain than either Lex Luthor (but Spacey was indeed great).

However, if you look at Singer's as the third film (which you mock) than indeed he has been the villain as much as Magneto has appeared. The argument is not who is better but the overuse of a villain. I'd also like to add that Magneto was not sacraficing, he had every intention to be a ruler or tyrant of some sort. It goes back to X1 (where Singer and Hayter had INFINTE more and better understanding of the Magneto character and all the characters for that matter than Ratner and Kinberg and Penn) in which Wolverine says to him "You're so full of ****! If you were so righteous, it'd be you in that thing."

Yet another piece of dichotemy for Mags as a villain fighting opressors when he wants to be one himself. Something that X3 dumbly ignores I might add though.

Magneto's plan was never to sacrifice himself in order to save mutant kind. If it was, he would have willingly died via his plan in X-Men rather than sacrifice Rogue instead.

Regardless, McKellen's Magneto is fantastic . . . he was a brilliant casting choice . . . good luck topping him in future reincarnations of the X-Men.

I find it sad more than anything that quality does not always equal high marks at the box office.

Magneto's sacrifice, alright. Sacrifice of Rogue (first film) Xavier, (second film), waves upon waves of nameless flunkies for no apparent reason (third film).

Oh yeah, First film; Because he needs Rogue to activate the mutant machine, Second film; Facing with X-MEN, a human army with orders by Stryker in order to destroy the mutants, hey Magneto is a coward because he is not facing the army and his enemies face to face, and Third film;Magneto is the leader of the mutant army, personally, against another human army in Alcatarz, hey Maneto´s life is never in danger, to help his brothers mutants, and it´s a shame that your nickname is Cyclops and always your posts is only to talk bad about X-Movies, what a hypocrite.

So because he's got an X-Men name he has to like EVERYTHING X-Men?

I love the Superman character more than the X-Men, but I really was disenchanted with the SR film by Singer and his whack pack of fools Harris and Daugherty, so I chose X3.

Magneto is a serious threat and someone you really have to deal with. Superman just has to smack lame luther in his mouth!

Want Superman to really rock, bring on Darkseid!!

Magneto is a great villain and very complex (in the first two movies anyway) but HE NEVER SACRIFICES. Even in Ratner's **** film which you like, he let's his "brothers" get cured without a whim. His treatment of Mystique is appalling and out of character.

But in the first ones Singer and Hayter even CALL HIM ON HIS HYPOCRACY, when they have Logan say "YOU'RE SO FULL OF *****. IF YOU WERE REALLY SO RIGHTEOUS, IT'D BE YOU UP THERE IN THAT THING."

The only thing Magneto ever sacrificed was his nuance and depth in X3. Movies of course.

I loved the first two films. The third is a festering pile of ****. I have stated this over and over again. And no, admitting that Magneto was not the self-sacrificing type in the films is not a criticism of said films. He's the VILLAIN. Villains don't sacrifice themselves because that's generally a HEROIC trait. Are you saying that you're stupid? Well guess what? I think you just convinced me.

And you know how it is with kids like HV here, Ben. Dumb as rocks, so they assume really stupid things.

[HighVoltageImitation]Oh, since your nickname is HighVoltage, you must like everything about electricity. But I'm sure you don't like being electrocuted, what a hypocrite.[/HighVoltageImitation]

Sounded real stupid, didn't it?

Superman Returns was a much better movie.. Bryan Singer took something that could have blown up in his face.. he could have made a horrible peice of garbage but he didn't.. Superman Returns is an amazing movie.. great effects and amazing script, SR made me think superman was cool again, after years of him being an unstopable unemontional beast.. Superman Returns was just breathe taking, I had tears in my eyes when the movie was over..

X3 was generic it had no feel.. it was thrown together to the point where it felt like a bad sitcom pilot.. You didn't feel for anyone.. the only emontional part of the entire movie was ruined by the after credit scene.. Brett Ratner took something that had potential to be one of the best movies of all time and turn it into nothing more then a sub-par action film.. the X-men isn't supposed to be 99.9% action and .1% story growth and political commentary.. The X-Men are supposed to be balanced.. the movie could have been used to represent so many issues.. showed us more about the Characters.. instead it gave us.. Beast.. and horrible thought out beast, How is it that Hank McCoy can be seen in human form on the Television in X2 but yet has been in beast form since he was a teenager as mention in X3? Angel was also a pointless add in, Ratner and his team of "writers" did nothing more than say.. "Sure, he flies.. give him about 10 minutes of screentime, and an emotion beginning.". The movie focuses to much on major sellers and action.. that's X3 down fall..

I would hate to have seen what Ratner would have done with Superman.. can you picture he using a bass-beated redo of the classic John Williams Score for the Teaser?

High Voltage is a joke. Everything he types makes you cringe, wondering how people can be that stupid.

I thought SR would be the better movie, but I was wrong. Superman Returns had so many problems. Got to give it up to X3. Never would of thought I'd enjoy it more than SR.
