Aloha,
Very sad indeed. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Upon investigation, it will probably show that he had and undetected heart defect. I had a friend who passed away at 18 years old from such a condition. We had just ridden bikes together a few weeks before he passed.
I was never a big fan or his art, but this is really a shock. Dead of a heart attack at 44? And he was a vegetarian? If he can go, what chance do the rest of us have?
that's terrible...him and Waid's run on Fantastic Four was the most enjoyment I've ever gotten from that book, and the few arcs Waid wrote where he wasnt doing the art werent nearly as good...he was an incredible artist...
I couldn't stand his art when he started Sensational back in the nineties. However, I love how much he evolved as an artist and how improved his style was when he came back to draw spidey recently. Its a shame and I wish his family the best during this awful time.
This is sad, I really liked his work. I remember reading his work in the first 10 Freindly Neighborhood Spider-man Issues. He defenitley will be missed.
This is the third RIP Ringo thread I have posted in here at the hype.
Considering the man was believed to be healthy this is quite a shock and very sad.
I never really acknowledged who Ringo was until his run on FNSM, but thought he did a good job on that title w/ PAD to help create a book that distinguished itself from the other Spider-titles. Just the other day I was reading Spider-Boy #1 from Amalgam comics again, loved that in the 90's.
